USPS Incompetant?

Im currently waiting for a parcel from pelican parts that on the pelican tracking says it was shipped out monday dinner time. This is on a 3 - 5 day service to the UK so by now it should be well on its way. However when I try to track it USPS say they have no record. Ive just got off the phone to pelican customer service who say the USPS local office has just hung onto it for over 48hrs now without doing anything with it or even scanning it into there system. Am I being fed a load of BS here or are USPS really that incompetant?

Funny, I was just bittching about USPS today. Their tracking system is a joke. My package from an ebayer arrived today and I checked last night - after about 5 days- and still no entry except the initial drop off date.

UPS's tracking is good but Fedex's is better.

Its odd cos my last pelican order sent by USPS the tracking was on straight away and the parcel was here in 3 days I thought that was briliant then this happens.

Government entity, nuff said.....

you usually have to pay extra for USPS to track a package. OK for delivery confirmation but never have relied for letting me know where my package is. not sure how well they are on international:confused:

I've had stuff shipped by USPS where they did take 2 or 3 days to get around to getting it out of the post office where it was dropped off.

That's weird....

I ordered something online, the item wasn't in stock. Yesterday, I emailed the vendor, and they told me it was shipped, April 18, and USPS says it was "delivered" to "Chicago" on the 20th. I still don't have it. My firm's mailroom has been trying to find it for 2 days now.....

Personally, I"m kinda pissed for other reasons as well....because for the shipping cost I paid, it should've gone another method than priority mail, but that's another issue.....

Duh....... a government run organization that has no accountabilty, and NO DRUG TESTS!

I personally know of one postal employee that is so drugged out i wouldn't let him on my porch without calling the cops.

I went to the post office last night to pick up a certified letter. I got there right after work, at about 4:00. When I got to the back of the line, all 8 booths were open. By the time I reached the front of the line 4 of the postal employees had gone on their lunch break. Seems that they don't take their lunches in the middle of the day when no one is there...no, they save them for peak hours.

USPS is a Democrat union, of course it is incompetent.

USPS incompetent?...hmm, let me think.
.
1) Last Sept. I received my VISA statement, the envelope had been opened and taped shut, my address circled in red and "Wrong address" written in red. Dumbasses delivered to wrong house.
I called PO office, spoke w/"Postmaster" who barely spoke English. She said they were training new folks.

2) In Nov., same thing happened but w/MasterCard statement...Dumbasses delivered to wrong house.
I called same "Postmaster"...same story. She apologized.

3) This Jan. I bought a set of OEM keys for a vehicle from an eBay company...seller emailed me a Del. Confirm. #.
USPS site said it was rec'd by seller's PO...date/time, etc. Two weeks later, no keys.
I check USPS site, it said package was rec'd by my PO on a certain date, and no other info.
I called "Postmaster" again. She said, "It looks like we did receive it here, but it was not deliver-scanned."
Then she said - Get This!, "Why don't you contact the seller and have them send you another set free. Sometimes they'll do that. I think your keys are sitting on someone's coffee table."

4) This Feb., I bought a $162 Yamaha CDI unit from an eBay company in New Zealand...wrong unit. Sent back for refund.
All manner of insurance and sig. required, del. confirm., etc.
It's now lost in the system somewhere between SF and LA.
Had to fill out forms to find it...no word yet.

5) Last week, rec'd my American Exp. card statement. You guessed it...opened and taped shut.

I worked for the gov't for 9 yrs. It's a slacker haven.

Yes, more drug tests needed. They'll catch the dude who smokes reefer at night; surely, he cannot be trusted with the credit card offers from Chase.

The truth can drive you crazy...Intelligence isn't all its cracked up to be.

coloradoporsche 04-26-2006 06:30 PM

Not just government-run, but a government-enforced, tax-free monopoly. It is actually illegal for a private company to deliver regular mail so there is no real competition. If it weren't for Fed-Ex and UPS innovations they'd have no tracking system at all.

I live in a new subdivision where all the mailboxes are in one central box for each block. Makes it really easy for the post office. Yet, my mailman (ok "mail carrier") cant get the little pieces of paper into the right boxes more than, say, 85% of the time. The whole neighborhood knows things about my family that they shouldn't because the mail gets sent all over hell.

Nathans_Dad 04-26-2006 08:41 PM

You think mailing stuff with them is bad, try getting a money order cashed that they wrote!!

1972_911T 04-27-2006 12:09 AM

Well the parcel has finnaly been accepted into there system, it only took them 52 hrs to decide to do something with it. now thats service for you!

USPS Incompetant
The sky is blue
sun rises in the east, sets in the west
gravity works

These are the constants of the universe.

Significantly different than the RM I'm afraid.
