Spent some time there. Its nice and not nearly as expensive as Sedona. Nice wooded areas and up in the hills, so it has four seasons.
Would give it a look. Course it does not rain like you are used to, so not sure you would like it! ![]() Joe A

Nice area, small town if you like that. Not as hot as Phoenix. Joe prob knows better, but I bet it's getting hard to get in PHO as NW Scottsdale continues to spread. Most medical care happens in Phoenix - don't get a heart attack there.

48 yr native.............get up on rim and have 4 seasons. lots of elk deer pig turkey and even a trout hatchery. it is an absolute summer escape from valley temps. as heat index climbs mtns become the last redoubt and prices are reflected by that and sheer numbers of people from calif dropping big bucks on lots.

Nice place to visit and watch the grass grow, take leisurely drives through town at 5 mph on your way to the one theatre showing Heidi for the 50th time or spend time sitting in front of the local hardware store shootin the sh&t with the town mummy's.
Oh.... and don't forget to attend the local high school games for entertainment and join the Civic organization to discuss why Sally's Chickens are always getting loose. ![]()

I can take the laid back small town stuff just as long as I can get to the pro and college sports within a couple of hours or so.
Noticed they have some upscale golf courses there too, so something is starting heat up in the real estate business. Looks like I'll have to take a "business trip" to scout it out a bit. Thanks for the info. Yep, I want the seasons, sunshine and not too much of the heat. Seattle is around 30in rain and looks like Payson is around 20in per year. Been and checked out Sedona---a bit too cosmic for me and Flagstaff--way too much snow and cold. Just looking for the happy medium. Thanks,
