Caribou – Its What Should Be For Dinner Every Night!

I grilled up the last of the Caribou tonight. Oh may Gawd what a perfect slice of flesh! I had the leg steaks the other night and found them to be amazing. Eat three rare 12oz grilled slabs – they had the flavor of a Ribeye, the texture of a Filet and no fat. Tonight I had what could be best described as minute steaks. Cooked them rare as well and I have to say they were as flavorful and tender as the best steak I have ever eaten.

For the past 12 years, we have never bought red meat from the store. We just eat Ribeyes, Filets and T-Bones and of Hamburger – grain fed Angus from my Father-in-laws herd. Always considered them the best – until now. Morton’s, Ruth Chris, Nick & Sam’s and Three Forks of Dallas have nothing on Caribou grilled rare. This goes beyond four forks, it is given the bent fork for eating with such passion you bend it!

Round trip ticket to Sudbury CA = $1400
Money I saved INCO Mine = $1.8 Million to date
Gift of Caribou Steaks from Mine Boss = Priceless!

U mean MOUSE....

Dantilla 05-11-2006 03:55 AM

I like moose far better than elk.

Mike, That looks awfully tasty. I guess the ribbing you got about that meat being a joke on tourists is a bunch of Bull.

Every time I go to the Harbor House in Copper Harbor, MI, I always order the Elk Burger.

I'm salivating now just thinking about it...

I want to come back as a Grizzly or a Wolf so I can eat them (and Salmon) anytime I wish!

forgot what resort but it was a ski area north of calgary, had amazing caribou in the hotels' menus

vash 05-11-2006 07:27 AM

i only had ELK done up at some fancy restaurant here in san fran, so i dont think that is a good litmus test. this place could make human flesh taste great. If i get some elk, i will dole some out to any bay area pelican. i looked into hunting caribou, from what i understand it is really easy, so i will let it wait until i old and feeble.

Too much elk when I was growing up. Having beef was a treat!

hmm yummy. Love it as well.

I had pretty rare reindeer in Sweden last summer, that was excellent as well.

Nice plates by the way, we have the same ones!
