"if the president does it, it's not illegal"

Well, that might not be the all-purpose excuse the Bushisas think. We were at war during Watergate, too.

Dude, don't kill the moment. We were all back in '69 for a while.

"We?"

"All?"

I guess multiple personality disorder means never having to be alone.

Dude, Watergate happened in '72, not '69. Were you even alive in '72?

I struggled to find the proper and like-kind comeback to the original jab, I am confident in my success.

No, you're just trying to hijack the thread.

Now, that's been stopped.

Bush thinks the Constitutional power granting him the position of Commander-in-Chief grants him powers over American citizens.

He's wrong, and is committing impeachable offenses.

I'm one, but by no means the only one, that wants Bush brought to justice, as a mass murderer.

There's an interesting coalition being suggested, between liberals and *real* conservatives:

--------------
Now Is the Time for
a Left-Right Alliance
A rebel alliance already exists that could stop Bush administration attacks on the Constitution

by Thomas R. Eddlem

I'm currently a life member of the John Birch Society and formerly served on the staff of the organization for 13 years.

So why should any left-winger reading this care a fig about what I have to say?

Because of a conversation I had with another conservative magazine writer recently. In frustration at the unconstitutional excesses of the Bush administration, I blurted out to him: "The only people doing any good out there are the people at Air America." I expected to shock him with the statement, but his two-word reply shocked me: "And MoveOn.org."

So "real" conservatives would like to ally themselves with the likes of Howard Dean, who recently said marriage is between a man and a woman. Except not.

Bush is incompetent, but the Dean-led DNC is just sleaze.

You might find this amazing, but real conservatives want the federal government's role minimized in medicine, the bedroom and religious activities. Oh, and they want the government smaller, not larger.

An excellent article, and a good idea that's been too long in coming.

I was watching two shows that my wife insists on, what they are isn't particularly relevant; what is relevant is how hard both of them are working to sell the Iraq War to America. It's a theme that cuts across much of TV drama these days.

I said out loud to my wife, a retired Army Reservist (with 8+ active duty years) where are the programs that are in opposition to the Bush'ists and the War? Is there no opposition, no "A Team", no M.A.S.H.? Where are they?

Oh please Pat, the country has moved beyond you and your folk song politics. I'm sure it's entertaining for you to look up and research your cute little examples of America being unAmerican, but the fact is America has changed. Some for the better, some for the worse, but different none the less. We are not only a member, but thee leader of the global community, the idea that we would or could ever just walk away is laughable. The fact that you refuse to accept that is admirable in a "don't mind my crazy grandfather" kind of way. But know this, America will NEVER look like the picture floating around in your head(even if it is pretty). This is why even reading your stuff is tiresome.........it's fairy-tales and gum drops.

IMHO anyways:D

Perhaps a conservative can offer a good argument for this assertion. The liberals certainly cannot...What policy byproducts make you conclude Bush is incompetent?
