Cowboy Lingo
As a kid growing up watching John Wayne movies, I always thought I knew what these meant. After "Brokeback Mountain", I'm not so sure anymore.
1. "I'm gonna pump you fulla lead!" 2. "Give me a stiff one, barkeep!" 3. "Don't fret---I've been in tight spots before." 4. "Howdy, pardner." 5. "You stay here while I sneak around from behind." 6. "Saddle Sore." 7. "Hold it right there! Now, move your hand, reeeal slow-like." 8. "Let's mount up!" 9. "Nice spread ya got there!" 10. "Ride'em cowboy!"

Good ones. A friend and his wife went to the premier of Brokeback, and they had no idea what it was about. They were curious why there were so many 'guy couples' there.
 They got razzed pretty good at work the next day.

my mom went to see it and 'just loved it'. but when you were raised on wayne, jim stewart, yul brenner, richard whidmark, glen ford, gary cooper, eastwood, duvall, costner..i'm just not sure i'd enjoy it so much. but mom insists that it isn't anywhere close to a true 'western'. i'm open-minded towards other people and their lifestyles for sure, but if i do see it, you can bet it will be on a dvd that someone else rents!
