Rudy Giulianni will be our next president....
Rudy Giulianni will be our next president....
That's right.........I'm a democrat....i can't stand Hillary...........McCain is to old...Frist is wooden.....Biden is a sleaze .......George Allen is just NOT presidential.... which leaves a scandal-ridden, charismatic, competent, able and above all likeable Rudy Giulianni..(remember people vote the person NOT the issues) I really think he can win...as long as he admits to all the mistress stuff at onset of campaign....... Also, the religious south can feel semi-comfortable voting for him, since he's Italian and therefore comes from a catholic, christian community...... At the same time us Liberals, can feel comfortable with him, since he served as Major of NyNy for years, and therefore at the very least he must be semi-tolerant and not a total square..... He is used to dealing with people of power and hi-intellect, which qualifies him as an able states-man... the more I think about it...the more I realise he's the our next prez..... He's got my vote, and I'm a dem. SvK

The guy has zero charisma. They had to cencel a 'special speaking engagement' by him in Orange County a couple of years back for lack of ticket sales.
He won't play in middle America because of years of flaunting a mistress, and don't confuse red state Christians as Catholic-lovers, They are decidedly not.

He's been nowhere near the limelight since 9/11. My feeling is no one remembers Giulianni except out of nostalgia.

Rudy is good if there is an issue to be discussed otherwise he's boring.
He has a decent chance at VP but never Pres imo. He took down most of organized crime in the city. I wonder how he understood the culture so well? Just what this country needs is a B'kln Italian in the White House.

Help me out here.
Is this the same guy that told the firemen to stay in the second tower of the WTC - instead of coming out - and who then, when the second tower collapsed, disappeared for a few hours instead of dealing with his mess??? The bad hair-do seem to be the least of his problems!

He's anti-gun and pro-abortion so will not garner much support from the more 'conservative' folks.
I'd take just about ANYONE over Hillary or Kerry, though!

FD usually are in charge. Big political bs between FD and PD afterwords of WTC. Even today unless it's a clear security matter the PD says its quick hello and goodbye.
I haven't heard anything about Rudy interfering in an FD operation.

No way an Italian or Jew or any other non-WASP or woman will win. It wouldn't matter to me but there are many groups to whom this will. I do hope that in my lifetime, a woman or an ethnic wins. I just hope it ain't Hillary.

Kennedy won in '60. He was Irish-Catholic.
And Powell, if he were to announce now, would still be one hell of a force to run against. The beauty about Powell is he isn't like the usual others, mostly because he doesn't (firstly) look dull, pasty and otherwise WASPY like the others, thank goodness.

I'm a Dem who liked Rudy. Did great things for NYC. But then it seems he ran out of "real" stuff to do and started imposing his personal values on NY'rs.
I think I actually prefer Bloomberg. Mike's got a nice no nonsense attitude. All business.

If Guiliani was from Chicago he'd be called a Democrat. Political view-wise, there's really little difference between him and Daley--except that Daley has appointed himself dictator for life.

Yep Not to mention, they both love eminent domain. Maybe as president, Guilliani can spread the love of eminent domain nationwide. |

You are putting waaaaayyy too much weight on denomination. I will tell you right now (as someone who was raised Southern Baptist (GASP) that southern Baptists will put a Catholic in the White House over any liberal the Democrats put up there any day of the week. I have always thought Colin Powell would be unbeatable, but he continues to say he will not run.

Rudy is great, he really cleaned up this town. But he aint gonna play in Peoria. New York City is like Hong Kong - a free trade zone. This town is way too liberal, and he pandered to that for too long, and this would work against him in a national election.
