Ebola case on Virgin Atlantic

I know nothing about the credibility of the Mirror but they are running a story about a lady who flew Virgin Atlantic to London while very ill and ended up dying of possibly Ebola. If it's determined that she did indeed sucumb to Ebloa how worried should the rest of the passengers/crew be?

The Mirror in the UK is roughly on par with The National Enquirer or Globe on this side of the pond. That may answer your question.

Ebola can only be transmitted by "body fluids", so unless someone had some serious contact with her on the flight, I'd say they are OK. There has never been a case of airborne ebola (well, not that affected humans anyway). I think the ebola reston strain was proven to be airborne, but it only affected monkeys.

The Enquier had the scoop on the OJ case....everybody had to play catch-up....

Ebola so far has only bin transmitted by contact with bodily fluids..then U die....by bleeding out of your eyes, pours of your skin etc etc etc....while your internal organs melt.

IF...Ebola EVER BECOMES TRANSMITABLE BY AIR....your going to see ALOT of people die a horrible death...in Reston, VA there was a Bio-lab where the virus became transmittable among the monkeys by air....and it was one particle away of DNA from becoming transmittable to humans...Be VERY AFRAID....

Scary stuff, I read a book about it a while back. Can't remember the name, but it was non-fiction and came out about the same time as the movie Outbreak. Makes bird flu look pretty damn pleasant.

Yeah, The Hot Zone. Great book, reads almost like a thriller.

The first opening pages deals directly with an ebola infected man on a flight and how he "bleeds out" right in the confines of the passenger area.

One truly infected patient on an Intl flight would be a nightmare.

Thanks Hugh, that's it. Excellent book, one of the better non-fiction reads I've come across.
