Macrobiotics - Anybody Know About This Diet?

Met an older couple recently. They were in their 70's but really looked like they were in their 50's! They are into a macrobiotic diet. From what I can gather it is based on a yin/yang thing about foods - veggies, grains, beans. Seems vegan like.

Anybody know anything about macrobiotics beyound that?

(Not that I would ever give up Caribou or Angus or Salmon!)

Honestly, their are just to many more or less scientifically proved diets these days.

My rule of thumb for a longer, healthier life: Less total calories with a large percent veggies and regular low intensity exercise.

Of course, I am personally far from living as I preach..

I know a girl- woops woman who has been on one of those Macro diets for 30 years. She looks younger and healthier that the other chicks her age. But man you should see her 19 year old daughter. Holy ***** I almost died when I saw her. Sweetness. I don't know what the daughter eats, but it ain't me
