What to enjoy when not in your 911 on Memorial Day weekend 2006
What did you enjoy when not in your 911 on Memorial Day weekend 2006:
Heres mine. What's yours. How about Sliver Glen on Lake George, Florida (BTW its a natural 72 deg spring fed cove with waste deep water inside and outside inlet on large fresh water lake. Great sunset gathering Saturday night at the glen with hundreds of overnight campers on their boats. Only problem is the blind mosquitos. Sunday a great day with lots of fun (and family fun too), and back home to rest on Monday. Oh here's another one top it with next weeks plans. ![]() Happy Memorial Day.

Since I'm not at Indy, I'm in front of my 60" HDTV watching one of the best 500's in years.
Been listening and watching for over fifty years. Wow, I hadn't realized closer to sixty years.. From listening to Sid Collins word picture on the radio to closed circuit at the movie theater to delayed black and white to the spectacle we have today. Indy is Indy. I like all racing including racing my 911 on the local road course. But Memorial day is reserved. I can go to the beach any day.

Slowly my bad habit is back. It's that whenever I drive other car, not the P, I don't feel good at all. Therefore, when there is anything wrong with the P, I "MUST" fix it right away or at elast make it run

I had a pretty busy weekend tried some new stuff:
Fri- My wife planned this day so we went on a wine tasting tour of the VA vineyards near us, now I know nothing about wine, but it was interesting and you can really taste how each vineyard is different. Not to mention beautiful, rolling hills, vines, ponds some had horses. The only thing that would have made it better would have been taking the 911 but it was down since I need to replace the starter. Sat-was my day we explored our new state and found the WV state park of Black Water Falls, talk about out in the wilderness and beautiful. A little hike from the house but it was worth it. Sun-went to stay with family in PA who I have not seen in 10+years. Went fishing in some of the trout streams in the area on Sun afternoon. I only caught one tiny trout, but it was beautiful up there too, I should have taken my camera but I forgot it. Mon-cookout with so much food that I almost burst. I was still full yesterday I swear. It was a busy weekend, but it was a blast.

All traditional events starting Friday evening at the National Veterans Cemetery in Baltimore with the Scouts. My two sons and I helped place a small flag at each headstone, just over 16,000 in less than half an hour! Truly a moving sight when it's completed, and a task we've participated in the past 4 yrs.
Saturday - The traditional first day at the community swimming pool, 60 degrees didn't matter to the kids, but it did to me! Sunday - At our close friends house enjoying steaks on the grill and watching our kids play together. Monday - Quiet evening at home, knocking off a couple of things off the honey-do list. All in all, another great Memorial Holiday!

Simple things like breathing, my Freedom.... and a silent prayer for all my Brothers and Sisters that paid the Ultimate Price, and those Men and Women of this generation that are carrying the Torch of their Fathers and Forefathers without rancor or complaint. I salute, and thank you all.
