thinking about these mileage and cash back deals. it could really rack up.

The credit card companies already figured that one out. Paying for a mortgage is considered a "cash advance" which not only is excluded from mileage points, but the repayment interest rate is higher.

If you pay your balance off, etc. and don't end up with a prime+15% mortgage...

A friend who did commercial painting bought over 7000 gallons of paint, along with masking tape, paper, brushes, solvents, yada yada on his credit card.
Took his whole family to Europe, along with a few other places. |

I wish... it's the only monthly expense we can't get on a credit card. As it is, we rack up enough points for both of us to fly anywhere in North America every two years.
I just caught on that Paypal transactions count.
