With all due respect to certain deceased thespians, that's not a hell of a challenge.

I've always felt a little guilty about not feeling enough sympathy for Christopher Reeve. Dunno why, he just bugs me.

I guess I got sick of the media adoration after his accident. Bad actor rich guy prima donna sustains spinal cord injury then spends the rest of his life recruiting others to spend time and money to cure his disease. Nothing too noble about that. Human, sure. Hardly heroic.

Don't feel guilty...you're not the only one. All of my equestrian friends (mostly lesbian chicks) used to laugh at him...I'm told he broke his neck jumping at a level way beyond his amateur ability. The basic message I got from them was that he deserved what he got.

And then the self-serving spinal injury campaigning was damn hard to swallow.

Well you can recount the same old story, or like in Spider-Man, particularly in the second, create a story. I don't know what this Superman story is - if it simply recounts "The Last Son of Krypton," has some new twist, or is completely different - I only hear that it's supposed to be very good.

As an aside, Tobey Maquire (Spider-Man) and Christian Bale (Batman Begins) were pretty good, wouldn't you agree?

I've heard he fell because his horse was too small for him.

I enjoyed Spidey 1, but I swear, one more moment of teary-eyed Toby gazing at the camera in Spidey 2 and I would've gone ape*****.

Batman begins was...OK, I guess. I still prefer Michael Keaton. There's very little that's sympathetic about Bale, for some reason. Acting aside, the movie kinda sucked until they got into Gotham fulltime. The whole "secret Japanese ninja academy run by a white guy in China" really twisted my knickers.

I've never heard an accomplished equestrian say "that horse is too small for me".

FWIW my wife was a blue-ribbon hunter-jumper in Kentucky for many years (no, she's not one of the lesbian chicks).

Reeves himself say it, but I heard it said somewhere - can't remember where, though...

Yeah - Spidey 2 got a little too choked, but I thought it was great that there was more actual story than action.

Bats 1 and Bats Begin - two completely different interpretations with different directors. Night and day there.

The authorities I've just consulted say he was "riding horses he couldn't handle over jumps he couldn't jump."

Of course I suspect he'd couch that in terms that wouldn't put him at fault in any way...

Well, first consider the source: The Advocate is like a queer's People magazine.

Anyway, yeah, Spacey's supposedly gay. McKellen is too - said so himself several times.

I hear it pays pretty well....

sammyg2 06-03-2006 02:52 AM

Don't forget, batman hangs out with a young boy who also wears tights. Coincidence? I don't think so. IMO he's a perv.

But then again, superman had x-ray vision and never used it to check out Lois lane's goodies, so maybe he's a little light in the loafers too.

not that there's anything wrong with that................

Are you serious? Is a bear Catholic? Does the Pope ***** in the woods?? He's as queer as a 3-dollar bill, as the old saying goes... He doesn't even try to hide it. Makes George Micheal look like a pussy hound.

As for the Advocate cover, I saw that on my Yahoo home page or somewhere. Laughed so hard I almost coughed up a lung. The quotes from the editors of the gay mag were priceless.

This Superman movie is going to be the gayest thing since the Village people. It will make Brokeback Mountain look like High Noon. Bryan Singer, who directs the new SM film is known for his attempts to get in bed w/ every dude on his films. Hell, even the Teamsters aren't safe. He gets sued a lot for sexual harassment. By dudes.

I read somewhere else about the problem w/ the new Superman; obviously they found a good-looking young dude to play him, but when he put on the tights he looked like he was trying to steal a 3-D Mag light and a couple of grapefruits. They had to digitally shrink his package so as not to scare the children in the movie theatre, from what I read. Frickin' Bryan Singer casting. :D :D
