Friday was a BAD DAY
Thursday Night was great...played some Texas Holdem and hit a good lick and walked away $320 ahead. Ironically as it turned out the conversation at the table was about how many traffic accidents there are in LV.
Friday mornining while driving a company truck I got in a traffic accident....I put in a few hours a month driving a Bobtail from a warehouse to a marshalling yard to a convention center. Sometimes I can sit in a marshalling yard for hours, in which I usually take a nap. Friday I got nailed. Nobody was hurt and the damage was not hugh., but it left me feeling so down... After I returned home in the afternoon I picked up my e-mail from the night before...My good friend of 33 years told me his 25 year old son had passed away in his sleep from a Grand Mal seizure. His son had graduated college with a degree in History and was going to Graduate School. He was also a surprisingily quick runner in spite of all the infirmities he had in his life... they were extremely substantial requiring many surgerys from infancy on. Its just so unbelivable and so sad..as my friend and his son were so close. Maybe his son used up his 9 lives with all the surgerys he had to undergo...and his body just had taken enough....

Sorry about your friends son. Nobody should have to bury his own child. Must be the ultimate disaster. Of course, I see it happen in my line of work rather frequently. But thats nothing compared to a personal relationship or, God forbid, ones own baby. Other side of the coin is that it puts a lot our daily whining issues in a whole other perspective.

That's rough, tabs. The young man sounds like someone who will be missed.

Tabs,
Sorry to hear about your accident and your friends son. I guess that is one thing that as a parent, we never want to experience the loss of a child, especially one so young. I know personally I would be crushed. That is one experience, I pray, I nor my wife will never have to go through. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your friend and his family.
