Have to put the kitty down.
19 years old. Cancer in her upper jaw.
She was never more happy than when she would get between me and a book or computer. I feel worse about this than most people I know who have passed away. Oh well. Sad day. :( |
Losing a pet is never pleasant. It is always difficult to do the right thing.
|
Sad news. . . I'm very sorry to hear. Maybe visit the shelter on the way home and adopt a new friend to help fill the void? My two cats are great - I can't ever imagine having to do something like that to them. Old age sucks.
|
Even if she was not a Muslim cat - who knows, she might end up in cat heaven surrounded by 72 virgin male kittens.
|
She had a good long life, you took good care of her.

Wow 19 years old, must of been a house cat.
We had to put our cat down recently, very painful for us. I feel your pain. |
She was a house cat. But in the past few years she figured out how to get out through the dog door! Every now and again we would be awakened by the sound of of a bird she had caught and released in the house. Other times i would catch her outside on the patio sunning herself in a chair.

My sympathies as well....Boy, do I know how much it hurts. Probably because our pets give us so much for so little, and they give us grief only when they die.
|
OHHH MY, I feel so sorry. They become our friends and family and to lose one is like losing part of oneself.
|
I know what your feeling, I had a a 19 year old pass last year, and my current eldest is 19, but he is very healthy, and for that, I'm very thankful.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1150323451.jpg And last week, this little girl came into my lifehttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1150323573.jpg
Gods Speed to your kiity. |
My condolances, It is always hard loosing our 4-legged family members.
|
Just got back.
Very hard to do. Wife's taking it pretty hard too. It's funny, it seems like the dogs know somethings different... |
Byron... I think you mistakenly adopted a raccoon.
|
Hey, an OT thread I can read and actually not be all pissed off about!
Condolences on the loss of your pet. My girlfriend is allergic to cats so I don't have one anymore but I like them a lot. One of my two dogs is getting very senior (90 lb Lab and 13 yrs old!) and it is upsetting to know he may not make it through the summer. I would agree that as soon as you can stand the thought, go adopt a fine young kitten that will make you remember fondly all the friendship your older cat gave you for so many years. Its a fitting way to honor his service to you. |
We'll probably go down to the shelter this weekend...
|
If you do, please post pics of the new family member.

Yeah, Had to put one down 2 years ago...Got it from the pet store. they said it was checked by the Local Vet....Turns out it had FELV.
By the time we found out, we owned it for 3 months. Pet store offered us a new one. " Great , thanks, now that we are attached to the Critter!" ended up Sinking $1200.00 over the next 10 months to prolong her life. EF the Petstores...SpCA for all of our Feline needs for now on. Shiraz sits on a Shelf with photos of her (some photo box we got from "BomBay" store) R.I.P. Shiraz (yea we were drinking wine when we named her) |
We have 4 cats and all of them just came to us from various reasons and places.
The old tom was born in our basement and the mama cat made us keep him. She would bring him upstairs and deposit him on the wife while she fed the rest of the litter. Then she would come up and feed him. That was 16 years ago and he is still spoiled. The evil 4 year female was found in a petstore, while shopping for some dog food she just attached herself to our daughter and dug in. She screamed the horrible cat scream when my daughter put her down. She started purring when she was picked back up. She is also spoiled rotten. The fluffy 4 year old I adopted from the BMW shop where I used to work, She was the only surviving member of a family of 3. The others were shot in our lot at night. She spent the first 2 years of her life outside and since I brought her home her feet have yet to touch mother earth. She is spoiled rotten to the core. The baby is now 2 years old, he was found wondering around an open air mall and my daughter brought him home. The old tom took a strong liking to the little fellow. He is on the road to being spoiled, and he has become my wifes constant shadow. My point is there will more han likely be another kittty in your life just wait until it finds you. I like to feel pets find us we don't get them. My vet just loves me I think I paid for his new Mercedes. :) |
