Question: Why haven't they been moved yet? Where are the owners of the boats? Strapped for Cash or insurance? Just curious...

Apparently both. There was an article the day I left for Alabama in the NY Times. Most of them still stuck did not carry insurance. I did see a barge being lifted outside of Biloxi, MS and that was a huge operation..

Here's a view out of my office window. Each year a family of seagulls has a nest on our 4th-floor patio and this year their nest is right outside my window:

(I'm not sure why there are 3 of them...)

This is the 4th year that they've nested on our patio. Here's a pic of last year's yung'uns:

Yeah, we're proud of our kids We watch them grow up; get bigger, lose their fluff and grow feathers, then, one day, they...sniff...fly away...they never call, they never write...actually I think they come back for a visit sometimes, but, really, they all look alike.

As promised. When I was buying this house my friends were teasing me calling the subdivision the Golden Ghetto. Real blue collar neighborhood. I have one of only 2 Porsches in the entire neighborhood. The other looks like an early 70's model in need of a little TLC.

A pic of my backyard through my slider. I think the dog wants to come in.

It is only an idea, but if you invested in a flat panel monitor and hung it on the wall, you could get back about half of the very nice bench

I hate to be off of topic, but Jim what city did u end up buying property in?? Procon I am also looking into WNC. Asheville is the general area but seems kinda pricey, go 10 minutes away and prices drop. Buddy of mine lives in Black Hills or Black Mountain. i'm gonna go looked on a 3 day weekend at the end of the month. I on good note from what i understand there aren't any dynos in that area, closest one is in Charlotte, i have one so when i move i'm bringing it with me

Actually....That IS a flat panel monitor. I changed out the Comcrap PC tonight for one I built a couple of years ago. Its been on my tool box like that for about 5 years and I am used to it.

Guys, some of you are missing the "zeitgeist" of the moment. It's not the grandeur of the place, it's the personalization of it to your milieu.

Post your location when posting to Pelican, or post where you'd like to be of your places, when posting to Pelican.

See if you can scoop up some of their "residue", it's great fertilizer.

Damn web footed crows.

Sorry, lost it for a moment.

Great view of human activity, which I always aplaud. At the same time, must tell you I'd not live nor work there for $200k a year. Glad you're there though, keeps them from asking me.

Yep. Couldn't agree with you more...

I have to add, however, there are some completely awesome landscapes here.....

Simply beautiful.

Likewise if I can be of help. While I don't know for certain, there are race shops in the A'ville vicinity who should have dynos available. I think there's one south of me in Greenville.

This is where i'm at, i sold my house here in Fl. I used to go vist my grandfather in the charlotte area., so i'm looking within a 20-25 mile radius of charlotte(rock hill area to mooresville area) and also the western part of the state ie asheville. I have a shop now that i will be taking with me, i want to do it as a hobby to make some side money still, but my main goal is to finish school. i was aking about the dyno because i have one and if there isn't one in the area, thats easy money for me
