sorry, that was retaliation for the earlier stab at the Gibson haters :)
Thanks guys! Wolfe, I cant wait to hear the p'ups. Thanks again for helping out. I got a chance to hear a few '50s guitars yesterday that were loaded with a good mix of PAF's and Pat. Nbr. pickups. It was a real ear opener for me. Very  stuff |

Shuie, that looks great. What hardware isgoing on, and what pups are going in, as hinted at?
|
Thanks Stuart! I'll use mostly the Gibson historic hardware and plastic, Grovers, matched pots & caps, and a set of PAF style rewound pickups from our resident boutique pickup winder, Wolfe. It still needs a lot of work, I think its going to be a nice guitar when its done. The expectation is that it will be as good or better than any Gibson Historic Ive played for less than 1/2 of the $$$ a current reissue R9 would cost.

Would you stop posting that? Its very upsetting,

The lump of firewood hurt it the most.

here is some more strat butchery. Originally a Bonnie Raitt Signature model, but someone still deserves a swift kick to the nuts for this. The shame of it is that it was a decent piece of wood that doesn't sound bad at all. Poly finish is still close to 1/16" in the few places where it hasn't been chipped away or burned off. It would require so much filler if it were refinished that I would almost prefer the original poly finish. I reversed the angle of the bridge pickup, flipped the trem, and played it with a LH headstock for the max Hendrix effect.

Some one going for the Rory Gallagher look?
|
There's good butchery and bad butchery. This used to be a Gibson Explorer. Some people should have taken up macrame'.
