Before this, they used to instruct the operators to sound like they were about to cry if you insisted on cancelling and wouldn't take their discounts. I heard it, and 3 other friends who cancelled when Cable showed up in the area all heard it.
It was the gayest thing. I would love to meet the idiot at AOL who devised that "marketing" idea. rjp
