Bob - you are right about the sidetrack - it was unintentional on my part - so I'll move back on topic. How about:
Some issues lend themselves to a "quantitative analysis" and some to a "qualitative analysis" so they are discussed in a different debate style. Quanta arguments usually revolve around "my expert/numbers are better than your expert/numbers". Qualy analysis revolve around "my view/reality is better than your view/reality" The fun begins when we start mixing the two with emotion! (Unless, of course, we are discussing F1 qualy in which case Alonso/Renault is usually fastest)
