Awesome development for me - guitar content
I was recently given the great opportunity to do some work for musician Rick Derringer, who was leaving on tour the following weekend and needed something immediately. I wasn't sure if I had the components, but scoured my shop till I found some that had been pirated from a competitor's product I'd repaired.
Rick wanted something very unique, that I'd never done before. I let me know this, and that I wasn't sure how they would turn out. He understood, so I started work as soon as I got off the phone with him. Mad totally on instinct, as I don't have a guitar that fits them. Mailed them out the same day, even. I waited nervously. A couple weeks later, I got a call from him. A message was left on my machine (posted with permission - and soon to be posted public on my site)- After using them at a few shows, he was very impressed. So impressed, in fact, that he's now discussing with the company that makes his signature model guitar, about switching over the components to my product instead of a competitor's. And so impressed, that Rick and I are discussing turning this into "Rick Derringer Signature model" I'm happy as a cow in space, I tell ya! I spoke to Warrior Guitars today who builds his Sig model. They're getting ready for Summer NAMM and taking some of those guitars. Unfortunately, I won't be able to have any of these ready to be on those guitars in time, since I have to order the needed part which I don't normally stock. So they'll sport the "old" hardware. Ahh well. I'm still happy as a Platypus on Pluto.

Wish I could, but I can't take the time off from production.

I've never been to summer NAMM (thought it was always in nashville). This year was the first time in 18 years that I missed winter NAMM. My buddy who gets us passes was in Iraq.
