A rather sweeping statement with no specifics or rationale. Exactly what are you referring to?

Yeah, well the Supreme Court sure has a lot to say about Gitmo these days, doesn't it?

I'm sure the justices are having a fine Independence Day as well.
The liberals do, brought up by the uber-liberal ACLU, in defense of a confirmed terrorist and tyrant loyalist...The Supreme Court, much to the contrary of conventional false perception, is 5 to 4 in favor of the liberals.

"On December 30, 2005, Congress enacted the Detainee Treatment Act (DTA). It unambiguously provides that, asof that date, "no court, justice, or judge" shall have jurisdiction to consider the habeas application of a Guantanamo Bay detainee. Notwithstanding this plain directive, the Court today concludes that, on what it calls the statute's most natural reading, every "court, justice, or judge" before whom such a habeas application was pending on December 30 has jurisdiction to hear, consider, and render judgment on it. This conclusion is patently erroneous. And even if it were not, the jurisdiction supposedly retained should, in an exercise of sound equitable discretion, not be exercised." -- Scalia

The Supreme Court, once again, have overstepped their authority. They are asserting what the Framers warned against, judicial tyranny...They are defying simple logic to boot.

We are so very lucky that we have Mulhollanddose for comic relief in these trying times. Talk about sticking to the party line. LOL!

Null, you give brainwashed people a bad name. I would suggest you question and not just swallow every Republican statement. But I learned long ago that every cripple needs a crutch, and conservative fanaticism is yours.

It's a shame that there are too many Americans that call Independence Day, the 4th of July.

The 4th of July is a date. Independence Day is the Holiday.
Yes, the day of secession from Great Britain was and is Independence Day.

There was nothing quite so amazing to me in recent history, as being a mere 6 inches from the original Declaration of Independance when I was in DC in April. It was truly amazing, and is an amazing work by some of the greatest men ever.
