Did I screw things up by reregistering under a new name?
 

I used Zeke914, then just Zeke for 4 years and 10,000 posts even. Now I'm "milt" my real name. Seems that many of the BBS members are having a hard time with this. Should I have Wayne combine milt with Zeke and go on from there? I know this is terribly trivial, but it's starting to bug me.

I personally haven't been able to sleep at night since your name change :)! IMO, your BBS name is a moot point, just keep posting and we'll be OK....

A newbie with less than 500 posts shouldn't be posting polls. ;)

Moses, that is funny. I love it. You should have read what Randy Webb posted yesterday. "A guy with 341 posts doesn't know anything. ;)" I and a few others burst out laughing, but the poor thread starter (a newbie) didn't get it and went away pissed. He thought he was being ganged up on. It was hilarious!

Maybe a note to Wayne could up your post count to where it should be? Then you could go on using your real name, and also enjoy the newbie respect you deserve. On the other hand, if a newbie is that thin skinned....

Why are people having a hard time with it? You post enough for BBS folks to see the change and it seems pretty obvious based on your sig but maybe that's just me. I vote to keep "Milt" but if it really bothers you then do what you have to.

FWIW, I don't really care what you call yourself just don't stop posting! That would be a real problem.

I don't know that anyone has problems with it - a few have commneted, jokingly.

Besides, I thought you felt that reaching 10k posts was bothering you, and that the re-registering under a new name was a way to partly take care of that (?)

Stick with milt, bring back the Zeke avatar, problem solved...

I vote to keep it the way it but I'm cool either way.

You could edit your 10k post with a little note for the "unwashed heathens" so they could get a clue. Then, take out the "zeke became milt" line, add a link to your sig named "newbies click here" taking them to the aforementioned 10k post. Or is that too complicated?:D

I'm used to Zeke, and it's a shame to loose 10k+ posts, but neither is really a problem.

I think you should go back to Zeke. Unless you confront issues from the past, they will always come back to haunt you. :confused: ;)

Fly your colors! I thought of you as Milt even when you were posting as Zeke. (But then, I have fewer than 1000 posts, so my opinion may not count for much. ;)

Why would it bug you ? What´s the important part here ? I am certain most people thats been around here long enough to build a 'network' relationship with you knows who Milt is. Even I did instantly. We all know your 'rep' and for the rest - well they will as soon as they start reading your posts. 100 or 10k does not matter.

I was told that Milt914 was run off when he espoused putting a 6 cyl air-cooled engine in a 914 frame and body.

Yes, the Milt avatar was great, but I was in awe of the 10000+ posts. It like standing at a row of urinals, and knowing there's a guy with 10000+ posts next to you.

It makes it hard to start anything.

This is way too funny. I'm glad I started this thread, not for the direction (which seems obvious, I'll move the avatar over), but for the humor. Some of the funniest ***** I've read in a while. (Maybe it's just me ;) )

I was married to one like that. I can't. I left. Been with this one for 25 years. You guessed it, easy going and drives a Porsche, her 4th.

Joe, I didn't do anything about the computer. I bought my wife a Dell Inspirion laptop with a gig of memory, the fast dual core dealy and Windows Media. Well, it's nice and all that, but for what I do, I can do it here almost as well. When it finally rolls over a dies in a ball of flames, I'll get that new one. I could do with a flat screen though. This 19" monitor for PET sure takes up a lot of real estate.

how about changing your tag every 50 posts - it could be your "futon of yute", you could be a real Ponce Dealion. Think of it...every week you are a new man (or women) with a new outlook and plenty of people to confuse! You could even play on the Shelby site (not sure anyone is on there...or the lounge, well that would be a waste as well...)
