Man, and I thought it was bad when Lance got caught with soap and deodorant!

Lance is gone, and now Basso. As far as I'm concerned, the tour is over before it started. Maybe Vinokourov can make it happen.

Vinokourov's team is in jeopardy of not having the min. of 6 riders now and may not be allowed to start.

Floyd's and Levi's chances are looking better and better, although I'm sure they would rather have a full field of all the contenders, it will for ever be a Tour with an * next to it.

I don't know about this scandal though, sometimes when the drag net is soooo wide and reaches soooo far, something doesn't smell right.

Beloki and Sevilla taking drugs? They haven't had any good results in the last few years.

Maybe the are all guilty, but something doesn't sound right initially. Now, the riders are being forced to prove their innocence to their respective teams, instead of forcing the Spanish authorities to prove their guilt.

So a Dr. can make up a bogus list, add a bunch of names, put labels on vials of blood, etc. and you would be pulled until you could prove your innocence?

Well, I suppose that's possible. But the interesting thing is that now all the cyclists are presumed guilty and have to "prove" they are "innocent". They can't even race and get tested during the race. WTF?

remember this isn't the USA and it is a sports event not a court of law. and the riders/sponsors probably have a clause in their contracts addressing issues with properly representing the sport.

haven't heard of any American riders yet on this one. so could be another red white and blue tour

I think LeMond is available - he's itching for another T de F title.

Greg swallowed the bitter at life pill too long ago for me. And I was once a big fan, wore the La Vie Claire jersey with pride in the 80's when I was active in NorCal USCF during high school.

He builds a good bike, though. I've something like 20,000 miles on my Zurich.

But like Lance says: "It's not about the bike."

P.S. would anyone know why Lemond (steel) bikes are no longer produced with Reynolds tubing? Now they're made with Tru-Temper.

I am really bummed about the tour..
Greg does have some betterness going on for sure. Armstong and him are ready for the ring read on...

LeMond said that Lance Armstrong has threatened him for having criticised the seven-time race winner's collaboration with Italian sports doctor Michele Ferrari. LeMond, who won the Tour de France in 1986, 1989, 1990, said that he was pressured by Armstrong in 2001 after saying that he was disappointed at the Texan's association with the controversial preparatore.

"Lance threatened me," he said. "He threatened my wife, my business, my life. His biggest threat consisted of saying that he (Armstrong) would find ten people to testify that I took EPO."

Although I've always admired LeMond, he's getting tiresome about Armstrong. LeMond really needs to go back on his antipsychotics.

Maybe Hincapie will win it all

Think of the irony. LeBlanc finally has a Tour w/out Armstrong dominating. Takes the high road on the Spanish doping allegations, appears like the knight in shinning armor for the future of cycling, just as he is about to leave the Tour organization......

Then 2006 the podium has: Landis - Levi - Hincapie.
With at least one of them winning the stage on Bastille Day.

Check out the "Latest News" section, lower left, lots of bad news.http://www.cyclingnews.com/

Life is not the same in France... I raced bikes there as a young pup and its a whole different world.

Do not agree about the way they do things but sure makes me happy I do not live there...

Well Landis has made it to the top for now...

(Hincapie appears done)

Didja' hear Landis is getting his hip replaced as soon as Le Tour is finished? He broke it in a cycling accident. It's been breaking down on him - even now.

I'll tell you what: Landis must have an extra helping of juevos to get the yellow - in the mountains no less, with a ****ed hip, no less...
