Today's stupidity courtesy of the Bu$h administration. . .

1. The stem cell research veto. What a short-sighted tool. 'nuff said.

2. (continued) intransigence on Israel/Lebanon ("uh. . . well, we don't like what Hizbollah is doing but. . . uh. . . we don't like what Israel is doing either". Bravo. What visionary and decisive statesman-like leadership. . .

3. The dumbass comment to Putin about "engaging in Iraq-style democracy" (even Putin couldn't help cracking a wry smile at our "leader's" overt stupidity on the world stage over that one).

4. (this one takes the cake - just heard it) U.S. citizens being evacuated from Lebanon are being forced to sign IOUs to the U.S. government at the port before being allowed on chartered ships to get them out of the country. They will have 90 days to make restitution to the U.S. government for an as-yet undisclosed amount (might be $500, might be $50,000 - you just don't know until you get the bill, Jack!)

Yet we're continuing to pay $45+ for a case of Sprite to subsidize Cheney's poor widdle Haliburton buddies.

At what point will people seriously start saying "enough"?

Hopefully it starts with this fall. I'm not a Democrat, but I'm beginning to think more and more that there's some serious merit to their position that "ANYTHING is better than what we have now". Maybe we should just start there and work out the rest later.

Just frustrated with such overt stupidity.

you forgot the "Yo Blair" and "$hit" over wine and crackers! ha ha

#4 is disturbing. As an American Citizen, I expect my government to protect me at no additional charge. isn't that why we pay federal taxes?

when your house is on fire and a fireman comes in to save your burning a$$, does he bill you later for saving your life?

Do we have the right to expect that when overseas? I'm asking I honestly have no idea.

I figure the US should turn right around and bill Israel, Lebanon and Iran for the costs of getting out folks out of harms way.

you've been riding that camel too long.

Would someone care to explain how the stem-cell thing has absolutely nothing to do with what the politicians/media say it does?

(It's really a bailout for some wealthy venture capitalists...)

it's amazing to think what our politicians have done in Iraq, so many people killed, and now they are fighting over CELLS!

ha ha ha

jhimsey 07-18-2006 06:28 PM

Your kidding right, what - I bet you think Clinton was a great one!!! I guess we are all entitled to our opinions. My father almost had is head blown off in Iraq...spent two weeks with him in Germany before he came back to the States! He didn't complain one bit and asked to go back....why....because he loves America and believes in obeying his Commander-in-Chief! Huh, funny thought!!!! He is now disabled and has subsequently been discharged - but he went kicking.

None of our Presidents have been peaches and cream. Even President Carter had issues. Get real. Bottom line...I would rather live in a Nation that is as squirrelly as ours with so many opinions and natural human beings that make mistakes than live any where else on this earth! Hoorrahh

expectations aside #4 pi$$es me off. the feds can spend billions on boondoggles but they going to bill emergency evacuees? horse****!!

Flatbutt1 07-18-2006 07:04 PM

there is a story over on CNN that states the fee is being waived. But it confirms that there is a provision to bill the evacuees commercial rates. Not even france does that! sometimes i just wanna puke

fintstone 07-18-2006 08:08 PM

When you vacation in a country that is overrun with terrorists...you take your risks. Why expect the taxpayers who did not take such a stupid risk to bail you out?

snowman 07-18-2006 08:12 PM

#4 was passed by a democrat controlled congress. Poleski (sp?) was one of the ones that voted for it. Now she’s against it, cause Bush is president. Leave it to Democrats to tax waitresses, cooks, people on unemployment and the rest of the truly helpless. Have to move because you company needs you someplace else? Your moving expenses are taxed as income to you. Company feeds you in the north pole, cause you couldn't afford food in such a location? Again its taxed as income. Thank the democrats for such outrageous tax law. Can't let those "rich" sobs get away with an extra buck.

Democrats have become the "anti american" party, of the future communist party of america. Pat and weenie are leading the way. They claim to be something differen't, but if it looks like, taste like, smells like, then it probably is a commie. They claim not to be Democrats, probably true, at this point, but they are what the democrats are aiming to become. Want proof? Just read the last couple of dozen posts by them and make up your own mind. Like Fox news says, we report, you decide. I think they are the same old smelly commies, trying out a new skin in an attempt to smell better, but it won't fool many.

Not to mention the millions of little ones murdered for profit by the Democrat party and their special interest profiteers, inspired by a racist nazi (Margaret Sanger).

That said -- stem cells is a business the government should stay out of, especially as it is nothing more than theory...Interestingly the left have no problem with this handout to pharmaceutical manufacturers...very interesting indeed.

Yeah, I go to a dangerouse part of the world, like Somalia and its the government's responsibility to bail me out. You must be kidding. How about going to Harlem, and demanding absolute protection by the government?

fintstone 07-18-2006 10:08 PM

Aren't these the same guys who were just whining about the size of the deficit?
