Which is creating problems since in many states, laws against sexual relations under age 18 have been growing more rigid, and more severe. The arrest of a young man in Nebraska on statutory rape charges by the state Attorney General despite having been married in a neighboring state, with the written consent of both parents. The girl was 15 if I recall correctly, the boy 17.

That's a little misleading. The kid was 22, and the girl was 14. The girl, by the way, is mentally handicapped. He had sex with her, got her pregnant, then the parents decided they should get married in Kansas. He wasn't charged with having sex with his wife, he was charged with having sex with a 14-year-old.
Actually, I just recently learned that the age of consent in Nebraska is 16 after a 59-year-old high school teacher had sex with a 16-year-old. They fired the teacher, but couldn't charge him with anything, since the girl said it was consentual.
