Back in the day, I knew guys who had the first version of the Sonnett...weird little ride, but fun. I thought the seats were too damned hard, but supportive. These guys told me that Ford Industrial was a good source for engine parts. Guess that about sums up my experience.

this may help.

I like Saabs. Really durable cars. Had a 900 turbo for a while. Really fun car.

Funny to see this, I saw one last week while riding my bicycle, it was a old-school silver/gold metalflake Sonnet (in CT) with a HUGE v8 engine and blower sticking up rat-fink style through the hood.

I always wondered why the v4 never took off (in cars, the honda V4's were great bike engines)

There's one parked in the lot here every once in a while. Orange. Neat looking little scoot.

Someone, somewhere must have a picture of that Saab Sonett with a front-mounted 911 engine. I've seen it posted here on Pelican

Ah, when SAAB was SAAB - a genuine Swedish product with air craft genes. My uncle had a Sonett when I was young. Donīt remember much about it. I do remember the V4 engines though. I think my grandparents and parents together must have owned at least eight or ten of the SAAB 96 model. No car (from that age) would take you throw snowy roads like that front driven 'free wheeler'. And the sound at higher revs was actually rather inspiring. Good rally genes those little cars too.

I have a buddy with one, neat little 2 seater. It did not make it on the Alpine 500, he had to switch to an Alfa
