Clinton was obsessed with fighting terrorism...Bush has abused his power pursuing our dark skinned Islamic friends.

WASHINGTON - More than a year before the Sept. 11 attacks, a small, highly classified military-intelligence unit identified Mohamed Atta and three other future hijackers as likely members of an al-Qaeda cell operating in the United States, according to Rep. Curt Weldon (R., Pa.) and a former defense intelligence official.

Clinton lied and good men died.

Why did Clinton have Sandy Burglar obstruct the investigative processs by feloniously shoving Clinton incriminating documents down his pants?...Hello?...media?...yooo hoooooo?

One of the reasons for going to Iraq was to stop the slaughter of innocent Iraqi citizens at the hands of a monster. In from time to time. and of itself, a noble goal. Eliminating dictatorial monsters is something that becomes necessary from time to time.

Had the war not happened, however, would the death toll of Iraqis over there still be 50,000?

Just curious as to whether the result would have been the same.

I know I will never forget that day. Having had friends directly effected by the events of the day I hate to see this thread deteriorate into the usual political debate and name calling.

Don't respond to the thread if you can't say something that demonstrates some respect for the people who died that day and the families they left behind.

If you want to have a political debate for god sake, start another thread. PLEASE, have some shread of decency.

Many times I have volunteered at disaster sites, but the distance from AZ to NYC cancelled out that idea. You are right, widge. Any time people die unexpectedly it is a tragedy to families and society in general. That applies to any disaster no matter where it occurs. Sometimes we forget that folks from other lands suffer as well. The circumstances for 9/11 were unique ( and I pray it stays unique), but all disasters, man made or natural have victims, and death is death.

As a former New Yorker, and watching the WTC get built, it affected me deeply that such an icon of America could be so easily lost and cost so much in human life, and be the result of such hate and anger. For a while, I doubted the right of the human race to exist, capable of such acts. Sometimes I still do.

"The prison in question is at the General Security Services headquarters, which was inspected by my team in Jan. 1998. It appeared to be a prison for children — toddlers up to pre-adolescents — whose only crime was to be the offspring of those who have spoken out politically against the regime of Saddam Hussein. It was a horrific scene. Actually I'm not going to describe what I saw there because what I saw was so horrible that it can be used by those who would want to promote war with Iraq, and right now I'm waging peace."

Justification.

Well, if Saddam was in power now, it would certainly look like it:

Iraq is the size of CA. And the U.S. military there can be in only a few places at a time. Guess what happens in the places where the U.S. military isn't:

The area becomes infiltrated with terrorists, principally from Iran. Iraq is a virtual hotbed of terrorism as we speak.

After three years, and particularly after 9/11, are things supposed to be this way?

a single human life lost on 9/11 is worth no more than a single innocent human life lost in Iraq because of terrorist Bush illegal invasion and occupation.

Who are they gonna call, Iran to tell them to knock it off?

I remember it like it was yesterday, seemed impossibly unreal to me.

People are dying over there, it is a terrible situation(Bush lied, people died, there, I said it for you)

Consider this.

Sadam was brutal, how many mass graves have we heard about?(less than have been found I promise you) 50,000 is nothing compared to what he did, and continued to do

There were pleas for cessation of the Israeli attacks that finally killed 4 UN observers in Lebanon as well. The Israeli's intentionally killed them.

The US government has killed more Iraqi's in the last three and a half years than Saddam killed in his 30 years in power, with the exception of his war with Iran, and that war was on behalf of the Reagan/Bush I Administration.

As for the alleged mass graves, few have been found, and none so far that cannot be attributed to internal civil war.

There is no rationale for the US government invasion and failed attempt at occupying Iraq.

Anti-semite...The UN observers intentionally raped little girls in the Congo. UN observers partnered with Saddam as Saddam starved his people to death and imprisoned children in horrific conditions.

You are despicable.
