I stopped doing paint and body work over ten years ago.

That is not a formula for success. I'll agree with that. The interior has to be $1500 or less, engine has to have a good bottom end, at least. Body has to be free of major issues. And you have to value your 'leisure' time at less than minimum wage... it'll all work out that way. We agree that the #1 item is paint & body. That's what separates the $11K cars from the $18K cars.

I think mine would be Cranky Orange.

Is there a color called "Cranky Old White Guy"?

KevinP73 08-04-2006 01:13 PM

Or maybe Bill would suggest "Lesbian Lavender"!

I recall the '79 924 did come in a color the dealers called "the hairdressers' special."

Oh I'm sorry that would be "Lingering Lesbian Lavender"!

LOL. The dealers themselves ended up driving them, since nobody would buy them. I never owned a 924. How were they?

not slower then any stock 912 or 356
and they handle pretty decent

i had mine for 2 years (after i bought my 911) and i liked it
it's a good entry level car, and let's face it , cheap as dirt, it's a faster, sleeker VW gti with RWD ... that's not necessarely a bad thing

only reason i dumped mine, is coz it was old, rusty and impossible to mod performance wise, without dropping another engine in it...
if it weren't rusty, i probably still would be driving it...
