For that matter what's stopping that? The next "generation" of suicide bombings will be with the bombers having the bombs surgically implanted - or ingested.

This is a war we cannot win, much as we delude ourselves into thinking. It's like Microsoft versus every hacker on the planet. . . The best they can ever hope for is to keep it a cat-and-mouse game, but everyone knows a good hacker will beat 'em every day of the week because they're behind the times and too slow.

Instead of focusing on the SYMPTOMS (which I find we as a society do too much in everything from medicine to law to policymaking to education) we need to focus on the root cause.

What's the reason for most terrorism? The fact that Americans (infidels) are on their "holy soil" in the name of oil. Solution: eliminate reliance on M.E. oil permanently and forever through the development of legitimate alternative energy generation strategies and/or reductions in consumption. Get our interests/people out of there and tell 'em to stuff their oil up their asses - we don't need it.

Until this happens, the terrorists will always have "reason" to do what they do (cowardly though it may be) and we'll always be one step behind them, tossing money fruitlessly at the problem.

JMO of course, but.....

The Real reason for the terrorism is the fact that we ARE infidels to them. The fact we are over there is just the current excuse. If we leave they will be quiet for a short time (not guaranteed) and then make another excuse to restart the terrorist acts. The cycle will continue as long as we exist.

So now what would your solution be?
