Anyone have a Tikka rifle?

I was thinking of getting a T3 lite .30-06 for deer hunting.

Its one of the few rifles still made with a removable magazine, which I prefer. Weighs less than 7 pounds, comes with scope rings, made by Sako, less than 1 MOA out of the box, around $525.....whats not to love?

I'll bet she kicks like a mule though.....

I'm still using the Winchester Model 70A that my father gave to me after he moved to Cali and quit hunting. It's also in 30-06. While it isn't as light and modern as the one you pictured, it has attributes that I have only seen in custom guns recently. It'll also give me a three shot group I can cover with a 50 cent piece at 300 yds. The stock is beautiful walnut, and the bolt is jeweled. When I get home from work tomorrow morning, I'll snap a pic and post it.
After more than 30 years of being carried around in vehicles and on shoulders, it's still beautiful, and the action still locks up rock solid. Sentimental too. That's my vote for a great deer rifle.

The pre 64 Winchester mdl 70 shoots so straight because the barrel has cut rifling. There is nothing like the CRAFTSMANSHIP of the older guns...

Never fired one, but I've heard a lot of good things about them. 30-06 doesn't kick bad at all, even with a 7 lb rifle. Good looking gun.

Why a removable clip on a hunting rifle? I have seen too many remove themselves at inopportune times. I have seen too many with bent lips and other damage that will keep them from feeding. I have seen too many get lost, effectively rendering the rifle a single shot that is fairly difficult to load. I think they answer a question that was never asked. Do they make one with a fixed magazine? Tika / Sako build some wonderfull rifles, but I would lean towards one with a fixed magazine.

Don't have one but almost went that direction. I hear only good things about Tikka and Sako. When you see horns thru the scope you won't feel ANY recoil ;-) Personally I have a Mod 70 in 270 WSM which is very flat shooting and will certainly drop a deer at 400 yd.

Not cheap but also look at the Leupold Boone & Crockett scope...zero at 200 or so and the cross hashes go out to 450. They are adjusted for bullet weight and muzzle velocity.
