No Wonder the dogs look skinney!

Opened up the cabinets in the outside bar, which I don't use much and shop vacuumed out about 25 pounds of dog kibble! I can hear it moving around, but haven't seen it. Do rats store for the winter, or just squirrels? Yes, I wore an N95 dust mask, after all, I am a Certified Industrial Hygienist! Set some traps, we'll see what happens.

After your hunting experience is over, I'd suggest shooting some foam around those pipes to block access for rodents and other varmints.

Hmmmm, my guess is a Fat Squirrel. And since he's well fed maybe you could re train his collecting abilities to money or Gold nuggets.

Get a weasel. It'll make short work of any fat squirrels or mice you have.

My wife thinks its a squirrel. Saw a big fluffy tail. Tripped the rat traps, but didn't take the cheese. Upping the ante, going to REAL traps.

Yeah, when you catch the rat... make sure you tell your wife it was a squirrel. She'll feel a lot better.

We caught a nasty rat in our basement, and I had been expecting a squirrel so used a live trap. Had to drown the b#st#rd... much commotion with wifey, 2 dogs and one cat.

Anyway, the freakout would've been much more reserved had I said it was a squirrel and disposed of it discretely.

And yeah, use peanut butter.

Got the Bugger!

He tripped the trap at least six times and got away, but victory is ultimately mine! Big rat, not a mouse.

Ouch, that will give you a sore neck. I wonder what is more painless, the sticky pads or those things. I just found a bunch of rat crap under the P-car in the garage and found that they found away in. Just placed sticky traps and poison. Hopefully they won't get to the car.

I heard it trip in the middle of the night, and I heard two twitches and that was it. If you use the stickies, what are you going to do? bash the little bugger in the head with a shovel while he's looking at you with those beady eyes. Don't use bait, then they just crawl in a hole in your wall and die and stink up the place.

Trapped... that's hardly sporting. From another pest control thread:

Get some spray foam in a can and seal up those holes around the pipes. Keep watching as rats/mice are good at finding food. My neighbor just found a family of mice in a bag of lawn seed in his garage and I found a few in my garage. I like the glue traps, but if a mouse/rat gets stuck in one and you don't notice it, they start stinking pretty bad! I use the poison bait in a box stuff and that seems to work. Mothballs around the car keeps rodents away in the winter, too...
