Question What was this originaly????

I'm thinking a Bricklin, but not sure. Interesting though, the owner has it for sale as a Porsche/Ferrari. Model Porsche, Make Ferrari, love it when these people don't have a clue...

Would that make it a "Forsche" or a "Purreri"?

I think it makes a car that both needs a valvetrain rebuild every 15k miles and a quart of oil added everytime you fill up.

I cant remember the manufactures name but it looks like a kit car from the late 70's that used a SBC and a Olds Tornado trans axle

Looks attractive in the pic above. I love the 904/Dino look, but I suspect that it's not nearly that cool.

If I could only afford one of those 904 reproductions that is really faithful to the original...

Thats the one I was thinkin of, used a VW pan, suspension and transax. seems like the Olds trans was a option later on. Didn't they call it a Dino GT or somethin?

Whats the expression...

Good from afar, but far from good.

It was a very well balanced car with a Corvair engine installed. They also made Corvair-V8 adapter kits (a la Crown Engineering).

Not a bad looking design from the top picture, but they look a bit awkward from other angles. Saw a 911 powered one on ebay a few years ago. It was quite well finished, and looked good with large 911 gauges in the dash and Fuchs.
