mixed emotions

We have all heard the joke of mixed emotions.

"Mother in law drives off a cliff, in your brand new Cadillac"

Lets hear some of your real life personal experiences.

Mine happened yesterday.

I won 1st in Class at local Club Auto Cross event. I cant enjoy sharing it with my wife. She isnt talking to me, cause I went Auto Cross racing.

You started off all wrong.
What you should have done is not tell her about the upcoming AX, and on the morning of the AX set the alarm clock for about 4 am.
Then when it goes off, roll over and giver her a nudge and say "honey, sex or autocross?"
She would have replied "don't forget your darned helmet".
You would have been OK because she told you to go.
I do it every time I want to go play golf ;)

You've done a poor job of establishing "boundaries" with your wife. Good luck with that! :D

Laneco 09-04-2006 07:32 AM

Boy, perspectives REALLY vary don't they?

I would have been pis$ed that you left without taking me to the AX!!! In fact, I would have been so po'd that next AX, I'd get up before you, take your car to the event and leave YOU at home!!!:D

Clearly she has no appreciation for a man's man.

Maybe something more along the lines of: "Hey honey...........check out the way I organized the closets.........just like on those TV shows!!"

bit more history....

2 weeks ago she wanted to schedule camping with the kids. I have had this booked for 6 weeks. And the fact that remants of a hurricane would have cancelled this trip, doesn't change a thing.

Oh too answer the next set of questions.

1, my son hates camping
2, no both our children live with the other halves.
3, what about being fair, well, i have been waiting on an adult camping trip for 3 years, and it always falls on a day that her son is scheduled to come over, so we cant go.
4, Yes i love the kids. they are great, but gotta play with adults some time.

I got a call about a week shy of my 1st wedding anniversary. I was told that a HUGE spur of the moment gig had come up for that weekend. I asked the wife if she thought I should take the job since it was in our town, not on the road. She said "Do whatever you want"...I told her it would be cool for her to come along. She gave just about everybody in the band the "Go to Hell laser stare" that night...

I guess I should not have played the gig, but we get a big laugh out of it now over a decade later...I even have one of my bandmates phone her every now and then to tell her we have gigs on that date.;)

I think I saw her picture in the dictionary next to the definition for passive-aggressive

pmajka 09-04-2006 12:41 PM

how fast or slow can Bi -Polar swing????

rouxroux 09-04-2006 12:58 PM

Oh, I have to admit I've been corrected on my choice of words...Instead of "Do whatever you want" her words SHOULD have been "Do what you think is best"...We still get a laugh out of it. She's the greatest...She puts up with the hobby quite well. I honestly can say I would not trade her for 2 20's.;)

i never got that "not speaking" tactic... my mother used it regulary , usually when she was beyond P'ed off at something i just did... and to me it was like ... hmm , it's quiet..oh well...beats shouting or flying objects...

rarely lasted longer then 3 weeks , 4 at the most...
put that Depeche Mode cd in the player, Enjoy the Silence :D

Neither do I, since silence is usually the goal anyway.

The last AX I went to was on my wifes B-Day.
She worked the grid staging the cars at the lights!
Sorry no joke to add

pmajka 10-12-2006 05:50 AM

Seeing the Hottest pair of legs, on the side of the road, in a super short mini-skirt, while she is crying to her boyfriend that she just smashed the rear end of the car in front of her. Oh, in the pouring rain!

Sorry no picture.

Mine was all about give money and take the beating.

I will never, ever let a women take possession of my life again. Damaged for life in that department. Four wonderful kids to love is more than good enough for me.
