don't know about that, I would be willing to bet that there are a few nasty bastids that took some bad secrets to the grave and never suffered for their actions

They all did their best--to kill being the chiefest ambition of the human race and the earliest incident in its history-- but only the Christian civilization has scored a triumph to be proud of. Two or three centuries from now it will be recognized that all the competent killers are Christians; then the pagan world will go to school to the Christian--not to acquire his religion, but his guns.
- The Mysterious Stranger, by Mark Twain

The mark of Cain is upon us all - even at today's high prices.....

The joy of killing! the joy of seeing killing done--these are traits of the human race at large. We white people are merely modified Thugs; Thugs fretting under the restraints of a not very thick skin of civilization; Thugs who long ago enjoyed the slaughter of the Roman arena, and later the burning of doubtful Christians by authentic Christians in the public squares, and who now, with the Thugs of Spain and Nimes, flock to enjoy the blood and misery of the bull-ring. We have no tourists of either sex or any religion who are able to resist the delights of the bull-ring when opportunity offers; and we are gentle Thugs in the hunting-season, and love to chase a tame rabbit and kill it. Still, we have made some progress--microscopic, and in truth scarcely worth mentioning, and certainly nothing to be proud of--still it is progress: we no longer take pleasure in slaughtering or burning helpless men. We have reached a little altitude where we may look down upon the Indian Thugs with a complacent shudder; and we may even hope for a day, many centuries hence, when our posterity will look down upon us in the same way.
- Following the Equator by Mark Twain

When I went down for the Physical to be Drafted....they sent me to see the Shrink...where upon I started to jump up and down and say I wanted to KILL...KILL......KILLLLLLL....Sadly the Army didn't want me saying I was too extreme for them....

I can just imagine that - and would pay just about anything to have seen it!

Mark Twain and I are in very much the same position. We have to put things in such a way as to make people who would otherwise hang us, believe that we are joking.

Somehow, I have trouble seeing our Tabby as Arlo Guthrie.

But the service is waiving morals constraints on over 15% of enlistees (as well as lowering performance qualifications and raising age limits) so lots of gangbangers are getting into Iraq and tagging the local buildings... so I say let's take the next step and empty the prisons of anyone willing to do the killing for us.

So has the NFL....

The problem with your scenario is "who" identified the man as a child rapist? His neighbor with which he's had a running battle over fencing issues? Someone who owes him money? The government?

If I found a man raping a child, then there's no issue, he dies because I'm lawfully defending a person unable to defend themselves from a violent crime in progress.

Uh....the jury based on Beyound a Reasonable Doubt? Oh wait, they don't have any relevance in the "Free Republic of Fastpat"

She is/was 10. Also, to make things more interesting a cache of kiddy porn was found (by you) in his closet complete with pics of your little sis.

Easy answer, many of you would most likely kill him if you could get away with it but say all that stuff was still true except that it wasn't your lil sis it was your best friends sister. Would you do it?

How about if it was a neighbor girl? Would you snuff him out for a mil? How about $1000? $100?

What if it wasn't anyone you knew?

No, you can't kill "him" or "her" under that circumstance because under ancient common law, you'd then have to prove yourself innocent of being a simple murderer, in front of a group of your peers; i.e. a jury.

That's the law, catch them in the act, or use a system of law to judge them; a system that's been used more or less successfully for millenia.
