It wasn't just Ypres. It was also the Dieppe raid in WWII--prior to the Normandy landing. The Canadians lost a lot of men at Dieppe. They got their revenge in Normandy.

Normandy? That was all US. In fact, we are soley responsible for every military victory ever. Including ones that happened before the country was formed. Battle of Sparta, Scottish war of independece, War of the Roses...we won 'em all.
