"State Of Denial" by Bob Woodward out Monday.....

"State Of Denial" .....

by Bob Woodward hits the shelves on Monday.....

It's a scathing account of a completely inept Administration at war with itself and in complete denial over the failures of a post-invasion Iraq..........This is Part 3 of "Bush At War"........

For all you Repubs that claim this is "pinko" journalism.....Bob Woodward is a republican and always has been.....

The Bush 2004 re-election campaign was recommending Woodward's last book, they actually had it on their website ... watch how fast he goes from hero to traitor.

This is a dangerous crowd we have running our nation. I don't know how it got to this, but we need a change, and fast.

The fact that Woodward's first two books of this series "Bush At War" , were so positive in regards towards this Administration...is EXACTLY what makes this book so damaging...and believable!

Coupled with the fact that Woodward is Republican...

what a title: "State Of Denial"

Is there ANY chance that invading Iraq may not have been the right thing to do, or that the effort has been seriously/fatally marred by major blunders and miscalculations?

Knowing what he knows now, do you think Bush would do it again?

He has made clear that he would ... Cheney said it directly on Meet the Press 3 weeks ago.

Either they are lying or they believe it. Whichever it is, they need to be gone.

And daddy, it's not "blind anger." It's principled disagreement over how these clowns are running our country. There's nothing "blind" about it, it's based on facts.

The only "blindness" I see is on the support side, as each new piece of bad news comes in and it gets ignored or whitewashed.

Absolutely there is, I have plenty of doubts. Though I'm sure mine are a little different. I think the attitude and spirit of the Iraqis was very poorly diagnosed. I think the resolution of the American public was overestimated.

In retrospect the whole thing may have been a bad idea. Not the invasion, but the attempted rebuilding and occupation. Saddam needed to be slapped down, the world needed to know that we were done being a paper tiger, that when we say something they can take it to the bank. So when Saddam was warned and failed to comply......we did the right thing.

Where Bush may have gone wrong was in his attempt to be humanitarian after he was toppled. Not that that I disagree with his intent, but he perhaps should have known or been advised that our citizens don't have the stones or heart to stand united during such a visionary long term campaign regardless of the potential long term gains.

Then again he may be right and this will turn eventually, maybe I too have fallen victim to the negative mentality that infects the left. These types of things can change overnight.

Woodward compromised his own journalistic principles for access to the Administration. I hope his book is a flop.

The place to convince the world we were done being a paper tiger was in Afghanistan (and Pakistan, if necessary). Not Iraq.

Instead we let the Al Qaeda core, the Taliban and any hope of redemtption for 9/11 slip right through our fingers and focus on Iraqetnam.
