I dunno..

But, if you go the Lowes, and purchase replacements, they will key them all alike at no extra charge. Home Despot, at least when I inquired, charges for the service.

Might be cheaper to replace them.

Kwiksets are crap. Get a Schlage, fits right in.

I also prefer Schlage. Quickset are found as "original equipment" on a lot of new houses. Certainly did not mean to imply replacing Quickset with Quickset!!!

Yep. I bought a lock at Lowes that they only had one of the combination, had them rekey a whole set of locks (5 at my house) to that one.

I accidentally locked my keys in my truck at U-haul when they were hitching up a trailer. 30 mins. and $40 later I was good to go. The way I look at it, locksmiths are on call 24/7. If they value their time, they should charge appropriately. I'm guessing you made it into the $100s of dollars.

One lock and one deadbolt at 1-2 in the morning ='s $150 ish.

Getting past the old ones is pretty simple if you have access to a drill.

Just visualize where the 2 bolts go in the back then drill thru the front and your in.

Or cheaper is to just break a window if they are single pane.

sorry guys, no one tied up in basement.

Fellow land lord finally got a Tenant out after 4Mos no rent. Oh, and the deadbeat is a Cop. The land lord is a Doctor and Cheap A$$ any way, but he knows I have skills in that dept (used to be lock smith, can make my own keys from blanks with a Pippen file).

He is afraid that the ex tennant might re enter the house and cause damage. Being a Philly beat cop and all (Fighting city of Philadelphia), and a dead beat tenant, there could be anger issues.

Dont have any more info yet.

And no i am not bashing cops. have 4 or 5 in the family.
