Ancient history. Result of an accident. Murder is a word reserved for the wilful ending of a life.

Anyone realize that this event shared the headline with the first moon landing?

Of course, every event is the result of previous events. I suppose we could trace any event back to the stone age with sufficient data available....

True......so we should call it what it would be today. Death caused by an accident when the driver was intoxicated AND failed to render assistance or immediately call the law. DUI vehicular manslaughter and/or leaving the scene of an accident involving injury or death. Both felonies where I come from.DUI manslaughter is relatively new, but I would be willing to bet that the other one has been around for a good long while. SmileWavy

I believe it went through the legal system many many years ago.

Yes of course it did, but these guys are bringing their best responses. It's just that this is all they got.

Nah...unlike Teddy K., if Foley is charged, he will be facing Federal charges and will go to the joint. Feds don't do probation only deals on felonies. And being a drunk is no defense. Evenif he cuts a sweet deal, he still goes inside for a couple of years.

Which is, of course, infallible and imperveous to any kind of back room influence buying/peddling/brokering. Justice is always served in this country, right? Right?

No, but it's what we've got, and is a darn sight better than vigilante "justice."

Then again, that stained blue dress is so intoxicating.....

Dry cleaning, more likely.

They are all scumbags. Heard a soundbite from this Foley guy rebuking Slick Willie during the whole blow job thing, can I say that her or do I have to say Lewinsky?

As I understand it, the kid in question here(currently)had his family against the news coming out. Mary Jo never had a chance to write a book like Monica, as evil as he is, at least Bill never let an innocent girl drown.

So, you think joking is the best response to the now well and truly discovered Republican who likes teenage boys.

jdm61 10-03-2006 04:37 AM

Yes......just like the "hot for teacher" jokes about Debra LaFave. Joking is ALWAYS a good reasponse, especially when you are dealing with politics. Like all wild eyed radicals, you have NO sense of humor, Pat. (although you may have gotten a good chuckle while watching Schindler's List)SmileWavy

He was drunk. He drove off a bridge into a river. He got out and left the scene. She died in his car.

Now how exactly would that be considered an accident? If you did the exact same thing, you would be charged with 2nd degree murder at least.

As far as definitions, check out the definition of manslaughter (also known as 3rd degree murder). Where exactly in there does it mention the word "willful"?

I hope they stick him in with Big Bubba and Bubba uses Ice-Hot for lube. This is sick, no matter where you sit and should not be tolerated:mad:
