				Dexter

Anyone catch the first episode? http://www.sho.com/site/dexter/home.do I liked it, maybe a little of a stretch but pretty good. Micheal C. Hall from HBO's 6 feet under is a little too convincing in the role, its almost chilling. My wife hates the show already, too gory. Although she will watch someone get hacked up on those reality plastic surgery shows whick give me the willies. I think its an addition to the TIVO.

I was wondering if anyone else had seen it so I did a search. I am up to episode 8 and completely horrified and addicted. I can't decide if it is too disturbing to watch or too compelling to ignore. It makes CSI seem like the teacup ride at Disney World. I'm surprised your wife finds the gore so distrubing. I think the main character's monologue is far more disturbing. It is the only show I've ever seen where the script is scarier than the bodyparts. Best thing since The X Files, IMO.

I was not looking foward to tonights episode because I knew it would be the most disturbing. Anyone that is folling this care to explain what the little boy in the room of blood is about. My guess is the real dad hacked up the family and Dexter was spared. Truly a disturbing episode, hence my being up at 2 a.m.

I find the Ice Truck Killer's relationship with Dexter's sister to be the creepiest/most interesting sub plot. In the first episode, Dexter's internal monologue said, "If I had feelings for anyone, they'd be for Deb." But the implication is that he actually has feelings for no-one. But we'll see if that holds true when she is danger. No matter how cold and cruel he thinks he is, the surest way to wound a man's heart is to threaten the women in his life. If Dexter has any capacity for feelings at all, we'll see it in the next episode.

I have never had a TV show jack me in the head like this one does. I am so sucked into this its umbelievable and yes, his inner dialogue is probably the best and most disturbing part of the show. I agree, all hell is about to break loose next week and it will show if he is capable of emotion. They are really good at casting these characters too. The Ice Truck Killer is almost a likable guy but man he creeps me out. I also love Sgt. Doakes, he is so creeped out by Dexter and the snotty comment he throws at Dexter crack me up.

Has anybody seen the final episode? I guess I will not post any spoilers. But I have to confess I was very disappointed. The "big secret" turned out to be, frankly, not credible. I think they addressed the relationship with his sister well. But they flubbed the season climax. Plus the whole conflict with Doakes is getting too contrived. Again, credibility is a problem. Doakes gets suspicious when Dexter behaves strangely after his sister gets kidnapped by a serial killer. Well hello! Who wouldn't behave strangely under those circumstances? So it seems like Doakes hates Dexter just so Dexter can have an adversary on the police force. It feels like a plot device. Oh well. Bummer. I had pretty high hopes for this series. But that final episode was big let down.

yeah, i figured that rudy would escape, then next season dexter would go on a x country trek to find/silence him while doakes put the pieces together.
