Too bad we have that pesky executive order about not assassinating foreign heads of state.

Even China can't be happy about this one.

China isn't.

They have helped spawn a monster on their doorstep.

I am usually all for blaming Bush for everything. Paris Hilton, global warming, sun spots....all Bush's fault.

But given the political considerations with China in the region, I don't see that there was much he could do. I think this ultimately makes China look like *****.

The question is, what to do now?

Thankfully Clinton got them to stop their program, huh?

Something tells me N. Korea is bluffing. For one (and FWIW), no seismic activity has been recorded from the region.

This does not sound like a bluff. Why would they bluff? Its not like you can fake it. Lets see what the CIA/NSA say about it....

If Bush had pulled his head out of his ass months ago and either not gotten us into the Iraq quagmire or required a viable exit strategy, we'd have had more resources to commit to dealing with North Korea (and Afghanistan, and Sudan, but those are seperate issues). It's kind of hard to use strong-arm diplomacy with a country that knows your military is incapable of touching them. And N.K. is simply exploiting that advantage.

So do I think it's Bush's fault? Not directly, but the omission resulting from f*cked-up priorities is glaring and certainly facilitate all the saber-rattling and militarism in N.K. to some extent. It's not 100% his fault, but his *****ty and retarded foreign policies are at least partially culpable, particularly given how we've bumbled around with no coherent response to N.K.'s "screw you" to the six-party talks.

Bush is a foreign policy imbicile. His domestic policy ain't so hot either.

Same ol' broken record Porsche-O-Phile.

This is indeed scary stuff. The guy to blame is the nut job in charge in N. Korea, no one else.

"South Korean intelligence officials said a seismic wave of magnitude-3.58 had been detected in North Hamkyung province, according to Yonhap. It said the test was conducted at 10:36 a.m. (9:36 p.m. EDT Sunday) in Hwaderi near Kilju city on the northeast coast, citing defense officials"

A North Korean nuclear weapon is like Chef Boy-Ar-Dee pasta or Uncle Ben's rice. Not the real thing. Nothing to get excited about. Boring.

I imagine "Lotus Land" isn't on the West Coast, is it?

I think we've known about the test for at least 14 days. China, obviously, is just trying to save a bit of face.

I was in Pyongyang last year. There is not a window or doorknob or tap or toilet in the entire country that works. I really wouldn't worry about their nuclear capability.

Does g/f know what to answer when she's asked, "What's in the bag?"
