See, here's the thing - traffic is moving better there than anywhere I've ever seen with traffic lights! Nobody waited for more than a couple seconds to get through the intersection!!! Maybe we should look at this for N. American major cities?
That being said, I think there's another (longer) version of that video with an accident at the end, isn't there?

They are not going that fast - look at the pedestrians. The whole thing is sped up.. But it does go a long way to explaining chaotic NYC traffic!

Here in NYC and NJ, people just drive through red lights like they arent even there. So why have them?
