Woke Up To This....Crack..Crack...Pics..

First big snow fall in Colorado Springs. This is in front of my house, several (soft) Maples lost their branches as they are still heavily leaved and the snow froze overnight making and the branches just could not sustain the weight of the ice on the branches.

It actually blocked my garage door and I could not even get out, so I had to get up at 5am and move the fallen branches to the front of the house.

I'm in the Utility industry here and it has been declared a Level2 Emergency for downed electric overhead lines and many many broken branches and collapsed trees. Big clean-up going on now and we had crews out all night and all day.

Let's hope this is the first time you've ever used that phrase.

Man, I am SOOOOOO glad I don't live in Colorado any longer. Beautiful to visit but shoveling snow out of the driveway to go to work sucks. I now shovel sand on the beach with my three year old for fun
I do miss the sking and snow mobiling though.

See, you really need a good hurricane to blow thru every few years to take down the stuff that is on the edge of coming down anyway...

You do know what we'll be saying when the Big One hits and your house slides into the ocean, don't you?

The only thing pretty about snow are pics of it!

That looks like work. Shoveling, cutting, hauling. Hope you have a good chiroprator.

BTW - it is 90F with bright blue skies here in the Big D. But don''t feel too very bad, we have Black Widow Spiders, Mark Wilson and naked UT cheerleaders running through our neighborhoods.

After living most of my life in the snow/rust belt, I gotta say that snow is still pretty, but only shown on when on the weather channel. GOt tired of it after so many years of struggling with a snow blower an a close to daily basis from November to April (not to mention ice picks when the temp would briefly get above freezing for a few hours).

And to think there was a time when I dreaded Spring because I was addicted to skiing!!

You want to talk about the weather?
You got it good.
I spent most of the morning outside and it's 80 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze and I forgot my suncreen!
I'm gonna pay for that later
I know, I hate me too.

Looks great to me. The snow has some advantages, like keeping away traffic jam loving inhabitants that pay millions for 2 bedroom condo's. Can't wait for some here!

In England you wouldnt get a mortgage on a property with trees so close to the house - I just had to have one felled that was 10 feet away.
