Favorite knife for under $100
Quickly please, I want to order this today so I can get it delivered next week. I just sold a watch and have a few dollars burning a hole in my paypal account so.
What's your favorite knife for under a hundred bucks? Thanks, Scott Thinking of buying here: http://www.bestknives.com/index.html |
You might also want to look around at Smokey Mountain Knife Works. They are located @ www.eknifeworks.com
I've found quite a few bargains there as well (even some great prices on an ulu last year and some Walther glasses) |
Give me a few parameters.
Do you want folding or non. pocket size, sword or in between. Looks like some good picking for under a 100 on the site tho. |
I haven't ordered from them, but this place has always looked like it had good prices to me.
http://www.knifecenter.com/ I like Benchmade knives. There should be several under $100. There is the inexpensive line that has plasticy handles and then there is a better line that usually has Al or G10 handles. You should be able to find a few of the better line for <100. That's what I'd go for, especially something with the axis lock. That way the blade has a positive lock, but you can easily open and close the knife with one hand. (axis is also ambidexterous, so it's lefty friendly) |
Folding or tactical and none of those sissy two inch knife blades... this is not a carry knife so it doesn't have to be street legal. I already have a nice four inch blade SOG and Spyderco balisong. I'm sort of starting an illegal (if it were outside my house) knife collection. :D
and none of those weird outer space looking knifes, semi traditional looking stuff. |
Here's a list of the Axis lock knives. I like the Benchmades because they are well made and many of them use a harder steel that holds an edge longer.
All Benchmade Axis lock folders |
Have you considered any automatic knives? THere are several good ones out there.
serrated or none. Personally I don't care for serrated blades. |

I like the autos but they are a little more pricey. |

Good stuff guys...
Anyone here with experience on Mcusta? |
Milu likes his...read a review in Knives Illustrated that raved about their edge-holding capability.
Pretty knives, but I think the recommendation was to go with one sans pocket clip. |
Benchmade resistor 420 looks nice... not sure I like the plastic hand grip, wish I could see one in person. Most of my knifes have plastic hand grips but don't know about the two tone scaloped pattern.
For the same price (around $125) they have a Mcusta with a Damascus blade. |

WE HAVE A WINNER!
Already have a couple of serious knifes so went a little fufu... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1162596743.jpg and one of these just because, http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1162596775.jpg Got away for under $150 and got the order in today. All posted links have been bookmarked for further spending sprees! Thanks again. |
Cool deal, I'm thinking of one of the MCustas myself...probably the damascus-handlled "Bamboo" one.

Scott
I have that same Mcusta, scary sharp. Make sure you check the liner's intergrity, i got an early one that i do not feel is stable enough for hard use. Kuhkris are great tools :) |
