Has anyone else viewed the Fox presentation of Obsession? When I first heard our ex speaker of the house, third in line for the president in bad times, Newt, state that we are IN WW3 now, I thought he had finally lost it. Now that I have viewed the Obsession report, I have to agree with the ex speaker, WE ARE ALREADY IN WWIII. World wide attacks, New York, Spain, England, Russia, the Cole, the embassy bombings, all the others, no country has been spared. A continuous series of attacks for over a 10 year period and they vow to do everything to kill all of us, no matter what. THere is no way to appease them, they do not care, they only want us gone, dead. They WILL nuke someone, soon. What the heck can we do?

If they do nuke someone, we, the west, will vaporize the entire Muslim world. THEY DON’T CARE IF WE DO! About 15% of the Muslim world, about 300 million plus people HATE the west and all it stands for (that’s anything non Muslim).

The way I see it, the 85% of the rational Muslims in the world have a very short time to save themselves. I do not see it happening yet. I can only hope they catch on before its too late for them and the rest of their kind.

Snowman, while I share your concern, you will find only a few people with their eyes wide open on this board.

74 percent polled feel it is likely or very likely that we will be in a widespread war with Islamic militants within 10 years. Apparently many people in this country see the threat as well. They just simply aren't on this board.

When I heard that statistic, I wondered how people did not figure that we were already at war. The Islamic Fascists fired the first shots in Beruit many years ago. The U.S. looked the other way for so long. The jihaddists saw our weakness and continued to exploit it. Now we face an enemy that has been given nearly three decades to gain momentum. The stakes are higher, the enemy more sophisticated and the U.S. media is owned by a band of the treasonous who declare the U.S. to be the problem.

Bad America! Just roll over and die. Of course we might just do that when they smuggle chemical, biological or nuclear weapons over our unsecure borders and kill tens or hundreds of thousands.

But even then, the left will stand for nothing, be willing to sacrifice nothing for freedom, and will be left with nothing but their continuing hatred for Bush.

Most of what you post could be considered hyperbole.

I think most people with a modicum of intelligence understand the severity of the problem but, unlike folks who post here, they are not positionally placed at the extreme ends of the distribution curve. The ones who shout the loudest, whether they be conservative or liberal do NOT represent the majority.

What people are concerned about translates into uncertainty, whether it be about Iraq, the economy or whatever else that the candidates drag out of their bag of tricks. The war, to most, has gone on too long, was, according to most, presented in terms that later were found to be untrue. The economy, according to many, has favored specific groups over others. Congress is at its lowest confindence level on record, and people see illegals as a real problem, although split on what to do. We could go on, but the point is what people perceive, not what is actually going on. Too many positions are cloaked in emotion. Even FOX network on one of their crawls yesterday stated that, for example, 91% of Republican campaign ads were negative. I have no figures on Democrat negatives. But, any observer would have to agree that fact checking is not high on the list when it comes to smear and deceit.The sound bytes of "stay the course" and "cut and run" are equally inane, trite and meaningless.

Most people would like to see a successful resolution to Iraq and the Middle East in general, but are no longer certain that the current administration has the answer. Stating the "opposition" hasn't one either does not change the situation.

Ask about the borders. Why are they not safe? What is the problem? Why have they gone so long without the attention they deserve? Tell me again...How many years has the current party held the congress?

BTW: For your own edification, look up the meaning of the word "fascist". You might find that it IS irrelevant unless one has changed the meaning to coincide with "Nazi". Fascist has to do more with a social/economic conrition. However, the word "terrorist" is applicable when civilians are the target.

I can understand your frustration, but that frustration is not just a "consevative" or "Republican" attribute.

I have indeed read the definition of fascism in a number of dictionaries and other pubications. Radical Islam fits that definition precisely. The Taliban type governement is a perfect example.

Let me help you out:

"A poltical philosophy, movement, or regime that exaults nation or race and stands for a centralized government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition."

Many definition include religion with "nation or race". Radical Islam is intolerant of non-muslims and Western culture. The movement would like to topple Arab monarchies in favor of theocratic, dictatorial government.

They wish to exterminate Israel and all Western secular governments. They kill and torture muslims that do not support the movement. Their movement uses religion combined with misinformation about the West to incite participation and support.

Other aspects include the creation of a police state that rewards people for turning in their neighbors for speech that is critical of the regime.

You speak of economics. The Shiites, led by Iran's theocratic goverment would like to take control of a large portion, if not all of the Middle East, to use oil as an economic weapon against the West. Muslim clerics have suggested such ideas in propaganda designed to recruit jihaddists.

Let me back up a moment. My original response to this thread was sincere in that I have been criticized by a number of people on this board and I have been offered exactly the rhetoric that I have written therein.

I was not speaking of campaign ads. I don't disagree that Iraq has dragged out too long or that both parties are to blame for our insecure borders. However, I do maintain that there are quite a number who frequent this OT board who dump on this country and believe that the Radical Islamic movement is well within their rights to attack the U.S. because we deposed a regime that threatened our security as a state sponsor of terror.

That said, we are not at war with "terror". Terror is a tactic. We are at war with a utopian movement that wishes to create a dominant fascist regime based on a perverted form of Islam as soon as they kill us all.

To reinforce my point, read the thread on Saddam's sentence. The calls for Bush to face a similar fate took a little longer than I expected, but it's all there, courtesy of the usual clueless suspects. I guess they really liked the guy. FastPat in particular likes terrorists, and genocidal dictators far better than our President.

It's too bad that Pat will never know what it's like to be chosen as a random victim of Saddam's torture and murder machine. Saddam used it effectively to intimidate every living soul in that country.

I have several Arab friends that I spent 4 years in college with. Several were from Kuwait, some from Iran, and Iraq. These are close friends, like we spent 5 or 6 hours together every day for over 4 years. I do not pretend to know everything about their culture, like how a favorite stop on the way home was the Playboy club in London, yet they wanted to keep their "holy" ways. Some were women. They were very intelligent and explained how they felt about their role in society. In many ways they did not have any problem with the middle eastern "ways". Much like the Amish friends I had. They were getting degrees in engineering, yet they were going back to their community, with horse and buggies. They did not see a problem with this.

I am almost certain that these same people consider the militant Islamists, just plain nuts, and would state something, like, we should just wipe them out. These were rational people, the Islamic fascists are not.

People who do not take this topic seriously, people who would like to play butt darts instead of recognizing how serious the threat is, put the rest of us in mortal danger.
