Ford Ranger Question

What wheels and tires are the largest I could use on my '93 Ranger 4WD? It's got ugly (and rusted) 15" wheels now, with 215/75 tires that need to be replaced anyway. I'll probably shop Craigslist and just wondered if perhaps F-150 wheels and tires might fit, assuming they are six-lug and that at least two of them have center holes large enough to accommodate my manual hubs.

I noticed for example, some 17" wheels with 255 tires on them.

If you keep your 15" wheels, you could fit 31" tires on them to fill the wheel wells. 32" or larger, you would need a lift kit or they will rub. I believe 31" equals a 265 size.

Ford Ranger is actually a Mazda...so I don't think F-100 pickemup
wheels would fit. BUT...The newer 4X4 Rangers do come with 16" wheels. You might phone around the Seattle are wrecked-em yards...

While Supe is offline, maybe I can sneak in a different Q here...he'll have the floor upon his return.

I'll be going up to OR in a week or so to pick up a '91 Ford Ranger Short Bed, 4-Cyl. 2.3L, 2WD.
I'll probably fly up.
Ranger's not been fired up in over a year...needs OR's smog test/reg., etc.
Thinking of putting a tool box, etc., in a heavy duty wooden box I've got sitting around and ship it via FedEx Ground.
I don't want to dick w/airlines and bolted-together wooden box. Bad enough that I'm flying.

Anyone know if the Ranger is metric or SAE...or both like my '83 T-Bird TC.
If I can find out, I'll ship the appropriate tool box.

Thanks.

According to the local Ford dealership's service manager guru, so is this '91.
