SPEED pisses me off
Tivo'ed 2 FIA GT races + 2 European Le Mans events this w/e....
I sit down at the end of a long day with a cold beverage and a sandwich, ready to enjoy some racing.... What did I end up with? 4 hours of NASCAR qualifying, or something ! $%$#%$%$#%!!! Inflicting 90% NASCAR contents is bad enough but sneaking it as another series, that's just rude ! As if it wasn't bad enough they dropped WRC this year.... |

SPEED doesn't bother me at all...no cable or dish here, and the $ saved by not buying into monthly TV or cell phone payments has fattened my investment portfolio considerably. Hell, the more TV I see, the more I love my stereo...

You'd think in this day of 300 digital channels there'd be room for a channel that does all the motorsports that require turning both ways: F1, WRC, Dakar, Sports cars of all flavors, FIAGT, Le Mans (ALSM+ LMES + 24h), Champ cars, Old car bios etc, in HD and live ? (hell, even the Nascar road races if you have to)
I know I'd pay a monthly fee for such a channel ! That's pretty much the only reason I own a TV, well that and the new Battlestar Galactica show on SciFi ! ;-) I can't imagine what WRC or F1 in HiDef would look like! (goosepimples) |

It's because one of the main guys at NASCAR bought a controlling interest in Speed Channel last year so they "expose" the 'sport' even more.

I tried to tune into "Victory by Design" at the usual Saturday night time slot. They had "Pinks" going instead. Some fat, trashy b!tch racing her POS Mustang against some fat, trashy redneck in his POS Mustang. Didn't stick around long enough to see who "won". Is it really "winning" if it means you have to drive another mid '90's Mustang home???
