Go Big, Go Long, or Go Home

Gentlemen, those are the options.

Anything but staying there and taking care of the issue will cause us more problems in the future elsewhere.

Here's something crazy: You guys who just HAVE to HATE thinking that is not identical to yours should put me on "Ignore" first, and then come back to this thread.

Okay. I don't disagree with Joe. And the others who fear the fallout from simply withdrawing. Simply withdrawing would be as big a disaster as starting this occupation in the first place. Well, not really as big, but big enough. Those of you who are not listening, but instead are accusing the non-Bushists of wanting to cut-and-run should not be reading this. The Democrats don't want immediate and complete withdrawl. They, and the American public, just want someone to THINK about it and TALK about it.

Those two things have not happened until now. THAT, my friends, is the difference an election makes. The big news today is that the Pentagon has confessed there may be options to consider. Decisions to make.

Dubya's out of a job. He makes an ideal Idiot/Dictator, but we don't need that any more. Never did.

All I heard before the election from the Dems was "immediate withdrawal". Now the retracing begins.

Many pundits predicted even before the ballots were counted that, if victorious, the Dems would backpeddle almost immediately from their "immediate withdrawal" platform. They are already trying to claim they never said that. Just like they never supported the war to begin with. Just like "it depends on what 'is' is". "I never had sex with that woman", etc. etc. The undisputed leaders of the bcktrack, they are *****ting in their mess kits before even taking office. Incredible.

Oh, Come on.

Just about everyone involved in "decision making" is backpedaling. Republicans, Democrats, Bush I advisors, Kissinger.....

Every day (and of course it just might be the effect of a biased press) that the administration's course of action is not the optimal. I just wonder what the next two years of contentious infighting and denial will result in. Where will we be in 2008?

Although I tried not to pay much attention, I regrettably did hear a lot of screaming and yelling from both sides. Honestly, though, I don't recall hearing any Democrats calling for immediate withdrawal. I just heard Republicans saying the Democrats would call for a "cut and run" strategy. Or is that strategery?

I think you guys are imagining that the Democrats ran on some sort of "Complete Withdrawl of All American Troops from Iraq Immediately" platform. I never heard that.
