Need Reference for Buyer

I have a buyer that is interested in one of my cars for sale. He told me I could come on here to get a reference for him. He is from out of the country, and because of all the international fraud on the internet, I just need to know if anyone knows him or has had business transactions with him.

I have no experience with him so I can't help there, but his screen name here is "platas". Maybe that will help others here to inform you.

Just a note...

After email confrmation that he was purchasing the car and was arranging for payment to be sent....he stopped contacting me. After sending numerous emails, I finally got a response that he changed his mind.

I know this guy is supposedly a senior member, but I am getting very nasty emails from him because he did not like that we couldn't keep the car at our home and it was at an offsite location (we only have so much room). He also accused us of only wanting cash. Wrong! We only take US money orders or US cashiers checks which he agreed to.
The reason I am explaining this, is because he said he was going to smear our name throughout Pelican forums. I just thought I should state my side in this. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why he is making such a big deal about this. He backed out of the deal, not me. I even sent him references to our character. Oh well, I think he just needed an excuse to get out of the deal. We are reputable PCA members and don't need this hassle. I hope others have better luck with him.
