Proposed new rule for PP parts classifieds
there are a lot of rules already, but one that is commonly used on other sites is missing:
Anyone listing a part for sale must list a price! Seems fair enough, works well, and stops a lot of foolishness. What say you? |

While you are about it, how about a rule whereby when you register, you must put your location in your profile? Lots of new members don't do that- they then proceed to ask about good deals on cars. And we have to ask "Where are you?" Doug & Julie posted such a request on Rennlist, but folks still sign up and don't put their location...

Not that many abide by the existing rules....
Some people are just more savy than others. If your impetus for this rule is the guy sellling the RUF's, he won't stick to anyone's rules. For a while, I thought he was dual registered and was actually ExecMal. I'm still not sure he isn't. But the styles, while similar, are different enough to no longer pursue the thought. |

I listed a few things and didn't list a price, let someone else research out a price and get back to me. I'll look and then see what its worth. If no one offers, why should I bother to research out a price? On the other hand, I sold a cat bypass this week and the buyer asked how much shipped to his location, I went and looked at prices and made him an offer. I'd listed the parts about six months ago and got a response on a 3rd or 4th bump by me.

Agree on the location and would as well like to see a ballpark price.

While we're blowing off steam, how about those people whose parts are far too important to be listed together in one listing? Of 35 threads on the front page of the classifieds, excluding stickies, 17 posts are owned by three members. Drives me crazy. You don't need a whole separate thread from your other 10, for five POS lugnuts!

My wife doesn't have the foggiest idea how to get onto PPBB and if she did what difference would it make. Anything that is delievered to the house for my car is classified as wipers, no questions beyond that.
I think the situation with the Ruf wheels is pretty comical. If you want some, buy them new, any other decision to me is silly. The guy selling the wheels most likely will not stand behind them once they are mounted, nobody does. That wheel thread was almost as good as the endeavor80 guy from CT who was selling some wheels Ruf?? that were so beat to shlt and he had a price, he kept changing it though, finally sold them to John Walker? and with some dressing out they turned out beautiful. I like the old saying "If you have to ask how much they are you most likely can't afford them". I stopped asking how much something was after a few *********s threw that in your face. If I make an offer and it's turned down so be it. If you don't know how much something is worth, more than likely you'll be getting screwed. So, do some homework. Happy shopping! |

I always put prices. I get 0 offers when I don't.
On the other hand, I'm sure if my price is too high, it turns people off.
