What's the most beautiful car you've seen on the street?
I've seen many exoticas from Enzo parking at Radio Shack to Jaguar D-type driving down Preston in Dallas, but the most beautiful car I have ever seen was a brigh silver 300 Gullwing driving down 183 in Irving Texas.
The lines and shape of the car in a bright sunny day is like a Victoria's Secret model in lingerie walking among the masses. Beautiful!!! Yes, I will have one, just need to put in more shifts at McDonald's. ![]() |

That 300SL is beautiful! My Brother has a 61 300SL Roadster that my Dad bought in the 60's.

This morning I saw a 1970T, in original condition save for fibreglass bumbers without trim, and running slightly lower. No flares or anything to spoil the lines. Some greyish blue color I had never seen before either...
Man you can keep all your exotica, this car had me feeling like an excited 18 y/o again, and I took a detour to see as much of it as possible! Got to work late, but who cares! OK, granted - that 300 gullwing would have had me feel like that too!

Ok, so it wasn't on the street, it was in the window of a dealer, and they were closed, so I couldn't even get up close. But apparently it's the real deal, a Canepa 959 right here in Toronto!!!

Early E-type coupe a few weeks ago, covered headlights so I guess that makes it 67 or earlier.
Rare sight in these parts, and it was a beautiful fall day, just before sunset with the sun coming in at it sideways. I was raking my leaves, and just stood there stunned as it went past, burbling along and leaving a wake of red and yellow leaves.

Some of my favorite beautiful cars that I've personally seen on the streets:
- McLaren F1 - very gingerly being driven over a speed bump at BMW USA HQ's. - SLR McLaren - driving around the Mercedes-Benz campus. - Ferrari F360 Modena. Prettiest modern supercar, IMHO. - Porsche Carrera GT - at Lime Rock Park for a DE. - A DeTomaso Pantera. WOW. Bold. - I've seen a dozen Lotus Elises - they are also fantstic looking. - And there's simply something magical about seeing a 356 coupe scootin' down the road... - Z-man.

Saw a gorgeous silver 3.0 CS in Carlsbad on Sunday with black leather interior. In person the car is really striking. Wish I could add one as a weekend cruiser...

No pics, but a funny tale. Some years back, a local deejay asked me to bring my Porsche to a local radio station sponsored "cruise in". Not wanting to be the only Porsche there, I phoned friend Mick Michelsen, who showed with his 914. I also phoned a Salem (Oregon) couple who are dear friends, asked them to bring their '58 speedster...a gorgeous black car they have owned for decades. Instead, they showed in their red '56 Gullwing...all original, not restored. Lee bought the gullwing back in '58, the speedster in '60. Guess you could say he has an eye for the future.
The cruise-in hot rod set went bonkers over the gullwing! Gave it peoples choice, first in class. Oh, it p.o.ed a few of them, but that was their problem. Greatest laugh was when a guy in coveralls came up to Lee, clutching a car values magazine. "This must be a replica, right? Either that or you don't know how much it's worth. It says right here that one of these is worth...." ![]()
