Tabby Has Been Sick

Starting a week ago Saturday night I started to have a dry cough. I thought no big deal, this is what happens in LV in the winter, because of how the cold dry air effects me. By Sunday evening I started feeling hot and achy all over, so I thought Ahhh Ohhh, this is something more. Yet I wasn't knocked on my a$$. Monday comes and goes still coughing uncontrolably and taking asprin, hot tea, soup and cough drops. Tuesday the Cleaning Lady comes and I help her do some stuff, still functional. Wednesday I start to feel really awefull. Thursdays a bit better so I go out and do some shopping for Cold Medicines etc..Friday feel worse, and am not sleeping anymore, cause as soon as I drift off I wake up scared as if I'm drowning. Saturday more of the same, except I kept busy by attending a Gun Auction in Ohio, only now the cough is breaking up and my nose is running like an open faucet. Today is better, the cough is quiet and the nose while still stuffy is not running. I still feel alittle hot... This is fking miserable, I havn't been as sick in about 10 years. Since i started taking Vitamin E about 6 or 7 years ago I have rarely ever been sick. BTW I started takin Vitamin E because it is supposed to lower the incidence rate of Prostrate Cancer in men who have been taking it for over 10 years. Even the Dog knows something is wrong with me...and has been watching me more closely. She has even been checking the Pets Wanted section of the Newspaper....

I am going to take Jeff Higgins advice and check back with my MD to find an alternative to the Bipap Machine I have...and I tried some Cold Remedies but they wind up making me feel really weird or wired.

The only reason I'm writing this is that I'm sick of suffering in silence...and want everybody to suffer with me now.

Pertussis (whooping cough). My wife and I both had it two years ago. We were both out of action for over two weeks. My wife kept coughing until she barfed...yet the doctors were fking clueless.

(edit)

Never mind, I missed the part about your cough stopping.

Vitamin E does just about nothing. Take an adult multi-vitamin, and yes, do see a competent physician.

tabs, Sounds pretty nasty. I have a CPAP and its at a pretty low pressure. Still, it is very hard to take when I have a cold, or anything like it. I got a heated humidifier for it and it helps immensely. Not perfect, but at least tolerable. If you don't have one, I would strongly recommend you get one. You might consider an APAP It automatically adjusts the pressure based on a feedback mechanism. When you are not having episodes, the pressure is lower. For most people this works really well since they experience most of the episodes during deep sleep.

I doubt that I am telling you anything new, but its worth mentioning just in case. Good luck. i got so sick of my machine that I am having a UPPP done.

I have the adjustable pressure machine or Bi Pap? I couldn't stand the constant pressure on all the time. If U get out of your rythem of breathing though...its tough to get back into synch.

Question: how long can pertussis last? I've had a dry, deep hacking cough for almost a year - I have an appointment with a pulminary specialist, but my regular doctor says it's just some form of chronic bronchitis.

I think I would have doubted that doctor after the 2nd visit. At least you're going to see a specialist.

(2) Airborne effervescent tabs and (2) Alka-Seltzer Cold and Flu tabs in a big glass of orange juice and go to bed early. Do it again tomorrow. Maybe throw some Sudafed in during the day. You'll be fine by Tuesday.

Don't know if this will be helpful, but I just got my first ever flu shot 1 week ago. I am supposed to always get one because I don't have a spleen, but never did until now. I also got a booster pneumonia shot, that is an every 5 year deal w/o a spleen.

You might just have a nasty virus, (influenza?), obviously a shot will not cure this one but when you heal you might want to get one to avoid the rest of flu season. With the number of tourists from everywhere in LV at all times, it must be a hotbed of traveling diseases from near and far.

I hope that you are feeling better soon, go nuke-u-lar w/ the vitamins and healthy food, can't hurt and might help.

Have found that a blow job every 3-5 days works wonders. Clears out the sinus passages and just generally gives one a more cheerful outlook on life.

Try it, you will like it. Even if you are feeling poorly you will still smile...

On another note have you been checked out for Valley Fever? Could be what you have.

As long as I get the BJ could care less...
