Twit Filter

Does this site have settings that allow us to filter the posts of a specific user?

The "ignore" button. I haven't used it, though. I think everyone's opinion has value.

Click on the "Profile" button inside the particular user's post.

On the Profile page that appears, look for the link to "Ignore posts from theis user" in the blue bar, towards the bottom of the page.

Me neither. I'm too paranoid to use it. As soon as I do, I know someone is gonna start talking trash about me. :D

How would anyone know? Does the person someone places on their ignore list receive a msg. that they have been placed on the list by a specific user?

I find it strange that a guy http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/pyth.gif who's been on Pelican for less than 200 posts is already seeking shelter of the blocking button.

Kinda' whimpy. http://images19.fotki.com/v37/photos.../smokin-vi.gif

Oh man, I think that's the super-secret moderator filter; with that engaged they can't see your posts.

We don't want that to get out, think of the children.

dhoward 12-03-2006 06:31 PM

I hate when that happens...

I really don't know. Heck, I don't even know if I've been added to anyone's ignore list. Although there are several on this forum who have added others, and "bragged" about it. :D

Chris, geeze, man! Do you think you could wait until AFTER I add you to my list before you start in about me? :D:D:D

On most forums, when you have someone on your ignore list all you see from them is "This user is on your ignore list, click here to view their post" when they post. Other than that, no one knows whose on your list, they dont get any notification or anything.

Ignore lists are for pussies, pure and simple. If you are that sensitive, or that worried about wasting your time, you are in the wrong place. The asylum is not nearly as fun if you can't see all the inmates.

Asylum eh.

Really just wondered about filters. I might never use them. I was going through the post I added above and one guy was taking up quite a bit of real estate. He also transformed the thread from something useful into spat.

LeRoux Strydom 12-03-2006 07:49 PM

You mean this guy?

He's been on my ignore list for quite a while now, for exactly the reason you mention above.

I like the "asylum", but sometimes, some of the inmates are quite irritating and not worth my time to read their so-called "opinion".
